If there is going to AOE4, will it be in the modern day?

Like Starthing At ww1 and ending at like few years later 2008, that would be really cool, cause like Ensemble Studios have been ageing their games, and i am really hoping for a new AOE game, but with Machine Guns, Tanks, Planes and like rocket launcher men, what i mean is more advanced, and i am really sure that, that game will sell really high, because know everyone is more into guns and basically more advanced stuff, but when it comes to Rpg, its swords, but like an RTS should have really cool, looks to it.

Will there be an AOE4, and will it be Modern Day combat?

If there is anoher Age of Empires, it better not be modern day.

Can you just imagine the AoE gameplay with tanks and soldiers? It'd just be retarded. No offense to the game itself, but it just simply wouldn't fit the classic AoE style game.

Im not sure maybe some ppl like it and some ppl don't, say like COD4: modern warfare, lots of ppl like the game cuz the game features new weapons compare to old COD. Don't know what will it look like if AOE in modern, as nowadays wars don't like in the old days anymore as countries only use rockets and planes.

Yes, there moe than likely will be, but it' not even been thought aboutyet. People are too into Age3 but in a few years when people start to get bored of this Ensemble studios will bring out something else.

Ye but, Ubisoft is making a new game called Endwar, and people are rampaging for it to come out as soon as possible, and from posts we can see how badly they really want it, so i think moder would really make good sellings.

 

It doesn't have to be Age Of Empires 4 it could be lauched with a different name.

Every single one of Ubisofts games has been completely crap except Splinter cell. What I'm looking forward to is spore, though ESI has my favorite multiplayer setup of any game I play (Yes, even the epic Rome:Total war, the very definition of a strategy game and it's sequel and prequels) not including the common "Failed to join game" error. I doubt Anyone will ver make a strat game as good as the total wars, but Ensembles are usually lots of fun :)

i swear some people are retarded. countries only use rockets and planes? ever heard of conventional warfare?

but anyway... i think eso could pull off a moddern warfare rts that could still have some age of empires style of playing in it. and what would be the fun of going back and remaking age of empires 1 or 2. the only thing i would like to see is bigger battles,i.e. more population room.

Yes, I would expect it around 2011.

I'm not so sure if there will be a modern day one. Halo Wars could be an example to show some changes that might occur in one. Collecting wood and hunting deer would start to become pretty irrelevant to the setting of the game.
