beating the french in treaty.
This is a big proble, in 40 mins they will have a huge eco, and will be using cavalry and skirmishers constantly, i find it very hard to overpower them after the 40 mins and any solution would be appreciated.
(tactics with japan on how to beat french) very much appreciated

Too few players know how to deal with the tactic attacking from two sites..
French is so OP. only japan can handle them, but i would say french have the advantage to win vs. japan.
Imo spain works fine vs french, but the facts its you need to play 10 time better than the french player to beat him with civs like spain, ports brit u name it.

ur doing something wrong if u let him split up ur army... If u keep pressure with full pop on his base, nvm if he attacks u, with ur missionarie siege he will come for u. U should not split up ur army as spain, thats foolish. What would u do if his entire army was fighting ur 60% army and off course killing it, and keeps getting closer and closer... Spain 90 units prob even better than french's 120..
