LOL, this guy is an idiot, i bet he took this thought right out of a movie. Well it is a book, i think it is Hamlet (well i truely do not know but it was by Shakespeare). Those fools were not knights, they were spoiled royals. This guy really should stop pulling bull out of his ass.

Yes knights faught very nicely against each other, yet when placed against something unexpected they lost. Long Bows, Arab mujahadin(well for almost have a five centuries they kicked their asses), and even barbarians could fight well against them. Just placing the samurai that had a sword just as strong(or more) yet more than three times as light which allowed a lot of motility the knight would quickly die in the average fight. Yes there would be situations where a knight would beat the Samurai but it would not be with a poison dagger. In an average fight the Samurai would most certaintly win.

that was probably the most noobish post I have ever read. Seriously now you do realize that samurais weapons where not built for fighting a knight. A samurai used weapons to slash not stab while the knight used a weapon to stab. Thus making the knights armor impossible to break through.  No most likely knights where stronger due to their size and the amount of strength it took to carry and heavy sword,shield,and armor. Yes the samurai would have more mobility but what good would it due him if he couldn't harm his opponent? How about you stop pulling bull out of your ass..

Also i hate repeating myself, i was watching a PBS program on this. The Samurai wins and it was a quick fight simulation. This is not me pulling something out of ones ass but an experts opinion. The Samurai were better trained and their only true weakness was there armor.

First a Samurai carried a bow into battle so if this was on the feild he could actually injure or kill the knight before the battle started.

Both sets of armor are not all that they are hyped up to be. Samurai had horrible armor yet their agility makes up for this, aka they can move to avoid the sword or block it with their light Katana. Then the Kight may have a great set of armor yet it had holes only covered in chain mail and that could easily be cut through by a Katana.

The Katana was very light and could be directed and handled a lot better than a kights sword. As long as the Samurai was not fighting William Wallace(this guy is not even a knight, and killed knights as if it was his born right) i am pretty sure that they would win. The Katana could even get the chance of cutting through a sword if hit correctly, yet this is only a very slim chance. 

If this was a long fight then again the Samurai would win due the the fatigue that the Knight would suffer from a heavy sword and armor. 

So everyone stop forming your own educated opinions and start listening to the experts and well.

ok points going into this, u think u know everything but you don't.

1. plate mail has no armour parts covered by chain mail, some older versions did, but good true platemail did not have any chain mail on it.

2.you can break ANY sword if u hit is correctly even a katana, but a katana is not for choping so it would have great difficulty smashing a broad sword. the key to breaking a sword is hiting it square on the side with your blade going into it. but a good sword master would never let that happen, because when you block you want to deflect the sword, or somtimes you can hit it with the blade of your sword.

3. about slashing armour did you read my previous post? ill bring it up again in case any one missed that, since it could cause a debate. 

Sorry the plates are not covered in chain mail, it resides under it and do not tell me it did not because then the knight would stand no chance.

I said from a sientific stand point a well made katana versus a well made broad sword, a katana has a chance of "slicing", i do not know any better word to put it but you might find it, through the sword. (once again this is a fact and has been done.)

I never said you could cut through the armor, i said you could get in between the joints and aim for weak chain mail. A katana can easily cut through it. (once again this is a fact, studied in a laboratory and if geeks can do it in a lab then a samurai could do it on the battle field.)

Also remember that the samurai carried two swords one for slashing and one of stabbing.

There was no war between Knights and Samurais in middle age. 

We all know this, this is hypothetical. (sorry if a am ranting, or how ever you spell that, but i just have to make it clear that anyone who sides with the Knight is doing it because they just had "cooler armor" and a big blunt(not a joint) sword that could crush bones. You guys are not the experts and experts have done this hypothetical fight sim. and the samurai wins. End of story Samurai wins and good night. (literally it is 1:24 AM for me right now. .)

LOL sorry, i had to resond to this, maybe i am just tired but i pictured bugs bunny hitting a club over the black knight and his whole body armor shutters and falls off.

Oh and my church was having a youth conference(over 2,000 of use slavs) and well we just had a huge bonfire after and man i just love being Ukrainian, all the chicks are HOT. 

Well anyway that is way i am up so late, fun with friends and the girls were fun too but sad to say these ladies actually have bed times(well not really but it was 1:00 AM and parents might start thinking...... ). What a bummer. :P NOT

lol, I cannot wait until summer. So lets get off this topic and turn to how everyone in the northern hemisphere cannot wait until school is out and the real fun begins.

Though I will agree with you that most people probably are choosing knight because they had cooler armor the fact is your just not making sense in your posts. A samurai couldn't win even as much as I find them to be better than knights they just couldn't A samurai  wakizashi was short while the knights sword was longer so it could get the samurai easier . Other than that the samurai just had a Tanto and a katana and basically the katana and the tanto are useless unless the samurai could somehow stab the soldier in his eye with the tanto. Basically it comes down to this. Samurai wins long range Knight wins short range.
