    This sounds as if you use the scenario editor. Make sure you place the trade route sockets for Gaia player (mother nature). Also, better install the new AOE3 patch v1.02 online.
    If you mean the building in a RMS, then hold on, I will add these commands in the next patch of the tutorial.

    Hi M0nTy_PyTh0n ,

    my name is bernd and i ve created a cool map with ur help by ur script...
    The map works perfectly when i play single-campaign, when i play in the internet(online) it will also work (when i select 3 KI-Players and me......), BUT when i wonna play with other peoples.... maybe after 20 sec. there will appear, we knew it all:"Sync.-Error", can u help me that this map will work online, i just wonna bring some fun with cool maps inthere,
    My Map is defined by one .xml and one .xs File, as is said it works....
    maybe can i send u my files for testing and can u retourn it to me.....
    there is another question, when i want to place (on any defined areas or defined locations) the "fixed_gunbase" and the "fixed_gun" itselfs how can i place the gun on the socket so that it will work(with rotating and firing...), it is always placed beside on the ground but not on the socket, or even just not shown.....
    !! HELP !!

    its me bernd,
    another question : any idea how to create a fort which can be placed per random at any location:4 Nongaiaplayers(each one has a fort/ and 4 Gaiaplayers(each one has a fort).
    The fort includes:"medium_walls/edges turned in the right position/a gate and the big_guns..... .
    The fort is placed on hills, etc. ....... .
    Will i have to create it in the editor-->read the Edit-File of it and then write it into the .xs-file or is there any datafile (but not the "5starfort") on the databank??.
    when i have to create it, is there any advice about the function of placing(with detailed angles and degrees because the fort at the game will be placed with big wholes in the walls and missing edges!!!!.......)?????? for example"rmPlaceGroupingDefAtLoc(PlayerID, X,Z,High(AreaID),Degrees of looking)".

    hiya, wondering if someone can help me?

    I've made a map I can see the .bak and .age3scn in the scenarios folder (in c:my doc /aoe3), but how do I make them .xml and ,xs so I can play online? or even see them online.

    Have i missed something in the editor that converts them or debugs then converts them?

    I really hope they release a map editor or something i just spent 2 hours on a map that i can't even play because i made it in the scenario editor T_T its really disappointing! How in the heck do you create a map from a text file anyways!?

    The "Winter Wonderland" map is already a random map script, so, you do not need to convert it. If you want to load this map into the scenario editor, this is the savest way to do it:
    Exit AOE3 if it is running. Then, MOVE (NOT copy) both files (XS and XML) of the WW map from "My Documents/My Games/Age of Empires 3/RM" to the directory "Program Files/Age of Empires 3/RM", and you can load the map into the scen editor. When you want to play this map again online, MOVE it back to the origin directory.

    Well, first of all, I do not fix others custom maps, but, I will try to help by giving answers.
    Sync errors can easily occur, in general, if there are a lot of triggers in a map (especially many timed triggers). About the gun and it's base: I have not messed around with it yet, but, if you cannot place both objects on the same place, try to change the order, or, first add the gun base, then place an object like a "cinematic block" to this place by using a trigger, and convert the "block" into a fixed gun, this should work.

    As far as I can see, there is no function in RMS to directly place objects onto the map with a certain angle or direction. It might work with groupings you define in the scenario editor, but, I am not sure if these custom groupings will automatically get transfered (uploaded by host) to the players on ESO2.

    Just read the FAQ's in the topic. If you want to create your own custom "random" maps, or want to know how they are made, click the link "READ IT HERE" in the topic.

    Q: Why can I not play my custom scenarios in skirmish mode?
    A: Only random maps can be played in skirmish mode.

    Q: How do I convert my scenario into a random map/skirmish map?
    A: You can't. A scenario is a map with a fixed size, player number, terrain, buildings, etc.
    A random map/skirmish map will be generated new each time it gets started,
    and with the random commands you will learn to create in the tutorial posted in the topic.

    Q: Can I play my custom scenarios online?
    A: Not yet. You will have to wait for a game patch with a version higher than 1.02.

    thats what i read which means i cant do it with custom scenarios. but 1.03 is out
