I was answering Daemien question so thanks for the unnecessary flame.

I also remember posting in this thread months ago, who revived it.

no, teepees are basically pretty useless, except when i play as the sioux i use a card that allows earopean cav and infantry improvements (the ones that you get from an arsenal) in the teepee, so i build like 1 per game.

they aren't pointless if you know how to use them. They are good for defending your colony ;D

Sioux own. If you can play maps for a few chokepoints (Northwest Territory is a good one), and can fend off long enough to get RR's, you can get up some teepees and just fight from there. Talk about owning.

Holy crap. I just learned the full power of teepees. I usually only use the two teepee cards, and then, just in emergencies. But wow, I put in the agressive policy (war hut untis build corral, warhuts, teepees). Wow. WOW. I had 10 teepees up in a final stand, with 10 RR, about 25 wakinas (which had 50 base attack), and 10 tashunkes (67 hand attack with 2 area attack, awesome). I killed OODLES of troops.

Aww, damn. I just played a 55 minute game on NW Passage. I had the middle passage completely filled with about 25 wakinas and about 8 RR's, and my WC. It had 20 teepees, and my warcheif with the aura that increases there attack. -Wakina's had 171 Base ranged attack-. I meant to get you all a picture, but I got a picture of a wakina's commands, not stats. That's 342 freaking range against light cavalry and Heavy Infantry, though. 3.4.2. That wasn't even with a full fire pit and 27% more attack. If I'm correct, 27% more would be 217 base attack! 434 Ranged against LC and HI! 174 against heavy cavalry. (That's not with ranged resistance, though). Good luck trying to get through that! Hah. The only way to beat these things is to carefully take down teepees one by one.

I ended up winning by a trade monopoly victory after getting all my natives, 23 dog soldiers, and about 30 wakina's on the eastern post. He kept charging 50 ruyters against my extremely super wakinas.

So yeah, I can NEVER say that wakina's are UP. They are possibly one of the most op buildings i've ever seen. They're the modern equivalent of trench warfare, except that you're better entrenched. A cavalry charge will kill you. You can't get through the sprawl of teepees, while being shot down by RRs and Wakina's. Artillary will get owned by RR's. Any infantry will be taken down or outgunned by wakinas.

Wow, just wow. These things are beautiful.

teepees are really OP, in fact, it is way better than spanish missionaries, but, they are not so OP for sioux

teepees are used for defending or in late games, first they cost a lot(and they are unmoveable), and they need cards to improve them.  You can't really use it when you are attacking, because first it is really hard to build when exchanging fire, and you can't build too close to enemy first TC.  For sioux, you should NEVER defend, because u basically lose if you do.  You should also never wait until late games, becaues everybody knows how bad sioux's eco is.  So teepees are hardly used by sioux, if we give it to some other civ like dutch, spain, or china, its gonna be super OP.

But thats too bad people are dumb enough not to use artillery like cannons in such that can outrange wakinas and kill them, rifle riders cant get them, howitzers make teepees cry.
