Jannies are the strongest musketeer unit in the game, as quoted by ES, rivaled only by Redcoats and ashingus are w/e they are.

the port musket, the british musket, and if you take into consideration the asian civs the ashiguru, and the sepoy all have a much higher ranged attack then the janisarry and cost less in resources the only thing good about the janisarry is that they have high hp but i believe the ashiguru musketeer has higher hp then the jans as well

in case you didnt realize this is the warcheifs thread and there are no cheap civs like the japs and stuff. and you cant beat the dutch with them? what kind of crap is that? its simple, a couple of great bombards from your church easily put you on offense. ruyters will be torn apart by jannisarys and halbeirders will destroy the dutches economy

Ottos are a good treaty civ and have some very good units and the ability to build stables etc round the map with jans means they can be very dangerous. They have very good grenadiers and artillery with the cards , also abus guns plus jans do work as a effective meat shield and put them in melee mode they take down mass cav trust me . In the right hands Ottos can be a very dangerous civ.

Ottomans are better at NR30 than at NR40. They are the most underestimated civ, as I personally like to use them (sometimes), and they pwn Russia and demolish Asian civs as well (But since this is the TWC forum, we don't need to take those into account).

As I have TAD, the early game will be different for you, but instead of putting more vils onto wood, you will put lots onto food, and you will not have to build a mosque at the beginning. The Ottomans are balanced in TAD.
Personally, I like to use the Church tech card, and get 85+15 Jannisaries and 2+2+3 GB's. It seems to secure the win on land maps. However, on water maps, just use that OP Water boom.

That's right! I wrote it by hand Idea.

If only Jans trained faster...  On andes or with a russian ally they can work very nicely.  Their other units have decent training speeds, except for the gb.  I just use that for res.

    Ottos are designed for supremacy

Dutch>>>>>>>>> ottos.  Dutch will have the same crappy eco as the ottos at the end of 40 min, but they have 150 pop for their military, and they have a larger variety of unit.
