Subject: Re: 8 villager ageup Russian v Japan
    Kaicha:

What i see is a bunch of strelets and a shipement of cossacks. Very weak against any civ that can ship in LI.

Against Russia, most players train cavalry and send in LI (Archer/skirmisher -type unit), with minutement to hold off. And since musketeers are so ineffective at tracking down Cavalry and even when attacking them, most of the time they win :P

On your 1st screenshot, i counted about 33 Strelets and the 5 Cossacks, and at 6:30, which isn't terrible for a Russian. But still, the Japan could've built his town so that the wonder blocked front access, the Rice paddy way on the back, a Stable in the left and Shrines the other side, so that he could get at least 5-8 Naginatas + 5 Yumis + TC fire + 2 Monks + Irreguliers/Sentires by the time you came thus killing your rush...

I see your point and makes myself think of the counters to such an early attack.

At around the time the 2nd batch of Strelets are being trained, I am thinking training 3 x vils to put to coin as I would need some muskets as to try to counter anti Naginatas.
