Re: Best treaty map?
Well, I think I can agree that Deccan is one of the best TR maps.. Plenty of resources, hardly any trees blocking your wall building, plenty of natives and trade routes, plus open space in the middle and choke points everywhere else... Some other decent TR maps; Painted Desert, Texas, Great Plains, Carolina,..

That's deccan's prob though, wood heavy civs are screwed coz of few wood. Centre is heavier on wood, but still not that many..

Re: Best treaty map?
i love: carolina and great plains (though plains can sometimes run short of wood).
i like: ozarks and great lakes (though lakes really call for a diffrent strat, so i like the frozen one even if it has less wood....)
i hate: andes (overdone x100) and plymoth (just pointless)

Re: Best treaty map?
3v3 team games painted desert is perfect. so much food and wood, enough gold to get to imperial and then after that its basicly heads up fighting with perfect placement to start.
im fond to the ozark map aswell because of the placements and the fact theres less resources on this map clearly shows the booming of the civs as natural as they could be.
how about this.
worst map ANDES trade post raiders make this map retarded.

Re: Best treaty map?
Out of 85 games (which is alot since 85 x [40game time minutes + lag and extra minutes] = too much.) I've probably done [Large] Deccan the most and second most, maybe Orinoco and/or Mongolia. And I've only done Andes once!
I like Deccan since you have open spaces and also your walls can touch the cliffs so less walls and if your by the water, you only have to worry about one opening there. The bad part is not too much wood. But, I don't use too many wood-heavy civilizations so it's not bad to me at all.
I like Orinico even though it has a laggy 400 units at the one crossing for like 50 minutes. And you can spam walls like crazy because you'll have more than 1.5x more space after the treaty than before it to build walls on your side of the map. The bad part(s) about it is that there is not too much wood and the lame battle for the river and that some people will shoot mortar shells on your economy/town next to the river.
I like Mongolia since there is quick action when the line of players are adjacent at 90 degrees. So this means 2 players [of opposite teams] will be fighting each other for the main battle. Then, other flanks/skirmishes will be going on elsewhere to determine who gets trade posts, resources, treasures, and/or strategic locations. Nothing too bad about the map.
I think Indochina is a pretty good map except that ships can be made with lots of room for them to actually maneuver. So it is like Orinico with water coming out of the river and/or the mouth of the Amazon River. And also, there will already be buildings placed.
Sagenuay is pretty good also since the trade route won't get in your way of building walls. But, a little water and people can spawn ships and that you will have a few buildings placed are the bad parts.
Same thing about Texas except that there is no water.
Siberia is pretty good -- almost like Orinico -- except that you can walk over the river. But, it does block field bases over the river so people will have to conquer the strip of land in front of the enemy's base to spam units and/or make your units walk a little far to fight. However, there is one strip of land over the river where you can build. This area usually has the highest amount of fighting going on.
Amazonia would be good if people wouldn't build so many ships. But, I guess you have to to control the water. This map creates a "D-Day" for both sides as you have to accomplish the task of building a coastal defense and line of sight plus getting your men ashore and establishing a beachhead on the other side of the river. And most people wouldn't put all their units in one boat so they put it in many unless they have one boat surrounded by a fleet of warships.
