Build 1 or 2 manors depends on start up wood crates, 1st card 3 villagers, While aging keep 3 villagers on hunts herding the rest on wood. Build manors as soon as you have the 135 wood. Make sure you have 200 wood by the time you age for barracks. 2nd card depends on the strategy you are going to use. 700 wood not Virginia Company Virginia Company only saves wood on manors the 700 woods can be used for anything. Making longbows, build a stable if you need to, a market if you don’t have 1. The only time I might use Virginia Company is in a team game. For 1 vs. 1 it’s going to do you more harm than good. Just to note: Recordings of the best British players they never have Virginia Company in there deck.

Virginia company card will save you 960 wood in total with 20/20manor houses built after the card is sent.

However most likely you will not end up building 20/20manor houses in supremacy and the first house built will not gain the benefits of this card. You can send 3vills card, 700wood card if you feel like you will be rushed. However, by sending the Virginia company card to manor boom while aging then send 700wood card and make 2rax and continue using some of that wood to manor boom

Virginia Card is fairly pointless. I cannot see how you can possibly send it without massively stunting your economy, either you send instead of 3 villagers or instead of 700 wood.

If you send it AFTER the 700 wood you will already have built about 8 houses so the card only saves 576 wood! Thats just a joke!

Therefore if you cannot send it after 700 wood you must send it before. We can immediatly rule out sending it instead of 3 villagers because it will make aging up waaaaay slower and stunt your eco. As a percentage 3 villagers is about 25% of your economy at the time, as you will have about 12 villagers.

So basically the only point at which you can use this card is instead of the 700 wood. If you do this then you lose 5 villagers ,about 30% of your current eco (about 20ish villagers at that point). By the time you actually save the 960 wood your eco will have 50ish villagers. If we put 960 wood into food then take away 1/4 for villager spawning time, then the card will be equal to 7 villagers. 7 villagers is equal to about 15% of your current eco and is therefore HALF AS GOOD AS 700 WOOD.

Feel free to argue against any of the points, if I made any mistakes with my maths please tell me.

Age up with outpost + 200 coin (Ship 3 vils)

All vills to wood except for 4 ( enough to gather 200 food before you hit age 2 )

Market up asap even before any more manors - research gang saw with 100f

Queue up one vil for when you age with the other 100f and just spam as many manors as you can

As you hit age 2 (4:30 is an ideal time) you'll have enough xp from all the manor building with your 2nd shipment so get 700w sending asap. Redistribute a few more vils to food to maintain villager production and collect your 200 coin. Along with your 100 coin starting crate you'll have enough to research hunting dogs and the 2nd level wood upgrade. Still keep spamming manors till your 700w arrives. Also place outpost well ^^

Collect the 700w really fast - this is enough for two barracks and some more manors. Get the barracks up fast as in terms of military you'll be behind at this stage but not by a lot (should be about 5:30). Redistribute vils again with the aim of producing vils and longbow/pike.

While this starts of slower than most civs the economy boom between 3:00 and 5:30 allows you to continously produce 5 units from each of your barracks as well as villagers and even the occasional manor.

On this site you are going to get a lot of misleading noob responses to your questions.  Every expert goes 3 vill first and do not have Virginia Tech in their deck.  You should just add the experts like Damnit, Mayh3m, Pheonix, Challe, Flooky, Ourk, and several others to your friends list.  Then just check out their decks and that will give you some idea as to the cards you should use.  From what I have seen/ done best to go 3 vill, tower or 500 food age, 700 wood, 600w, 5 vill, 4 vill.  Just watch recoreded games on agesanctuary.com and you will get an idea of how its done.  Remember it can be tempting to go so heavy eco that you neglect military and lose to a good rush.  Try and keep a balance so that you can still protect yourself as you boom out.

I play 3v3 with the brits and this problem is easy to solve.

Depending on how much wood you start with build 1 or 2 houses, and all on food until you age.  During the transition I put all on wood and build 2-3 manors and enough for a barracks when I age, first card 700 wood (500 food age up) and build another barracks and the rest on manors.

2nd card 600 wood spend that all on manors

And now the important bit, up until now you should have all on food and coin and spamming units, 3rd card is the 5 vils and these vils go on wood and anymore from the tc go on wood also and you use those to manor boom.

Fill your deck with all the economy cards for age 2 and 3 they make your boom unreal when you go mills/plantations and upgrade those to the max too, its like having a 200 vill eco and a 1k score at 45 mins.

Never ever send those craps cards in age 1 like the faster building and cheaper manors they arent worth it. Anymore questions? Add me on ESO- wildman6

If you only have 10 military units later than 6 minutes in supremacy and you’re not doing a semi-ff, which the British don’t do very well you’re DEAD.

If you spent all the coin you have on wood upgrades and you spent all wood on building manors and 2 barrcks can you tell me what 10 units you will build at you’re 2 barracks?

This is to slow a start if it was a British mirror match and the other player did a musk rush he could have 16 musk in you’re base at a little over 6 minutes, 16 musk vs. 5 longbow and 5 pike? He could come sooner if she scouts and see you don’t have you’re barracks up with 11 musk in you’re base at 5.40 ish I don’t see how you’re going to get you’re barracks down.

Sorry don’t mean to be harsh but it’s to slow IMO.

Would suggest watching recordings of great players.

    Cluster_Bomb:

What I've been doing with the British is building houses will all the wood I get on age one (1,2,or 3) then during age up put almost all villes on wood to get even more houses to keep villagers comming. I stop building them mostly when I get into age 2. My question is, is this a good idea because you'll have so many more villagers than the other person early in the game, or would it be better to spend the wood on markets and even out the reasorces gathered during age up? Thank you for your thoughts and ideas.

It's usually a good idea to have more villies than the other guy, but not always.  The other posters here recommend to do what the experts do; good advice if you know why the experts do what they do.  The question is, "What are YOU doing after age up?"

If you're gonna fight/rush, you may want to build only enough manors for the initial military you need, then collect the resources to build units while aging.  A water map might give you a more efficient use for wood than manors. Sometimes wood for a TP or walls might be priority. It all depends.

People seem to fixate on British manors cause they spawn villies; don't think of them as villie producers, think of them as houses which help boost your econ, and econ is the key to Brits.

Yes; always build a market asap, it will leverage your manor boost even more.

A British flag says "rush me" to most other players cause they know most Brits concentrate on econ over military.  Don't.  Come into colonial with some resources to fight with and let your "boosted econ" do its thing.  Watch some (older) NP Brit replays to see how he resurrected a "loser" civ.

The answer to your question is, "Have enough vills to support your colonial plan."  A zillion vills are useless unless you have a plan to make them work towards.
