Do you know anything about "failed to join" in LAN?

I wanted to play with a friend, and when I hosted my game appeared on his pc, but he couldn't join. And when he hosted I could not see his game.

    Any ideas?

the fact that people who have a wireless connection can't play this game is really absurd

I can only play vs people who are from a certain area.

I followed all the steps in the multiplayer faqs

then I changed my router settings

I did everything but I simly can't port forward to this game

and drilling a hole in the wall to place a cable that is 20 m long seems a bit absurd.

The fact is that nobody has a decent answer to why age of empires doesn't always work on a wireless connection.

It has nothing to do with my settings...

I changed the port range didn't change anything

I can connect but only to people who have the same problem as me  lol

    Very logical I must say

conclusion. If u wanna play age drill a hole in the wall and pull a cable thorugh your living room.

i have wireless and it all works good...

use portchecker to make sure ur portforwarded correctly...if it says "unnreachable" ... u FAIL at port forwarding...try again...until u WIN

im 100% sure u are not port forwarding correctly...

after u port forward (as u said) and use portchecker...does it say open or unreachable? it should say open (for all ports) if it doesnt that means u didnt port forward correctly...if its open u should be able to join all games

I'm using a 3G dial-up connection to play on ESO. I can join most games. Sometimes it gives me a failed to join game, but that does not worry me too much.

What worries me is that my friend also uses 3G dial-up with the same ISP, so basically we would connect via the same 3G tower when we are in the same house. We just can not play in the same game, it always says Fail to Join Game.

I tried override port and address but not sure if I do it the right way. I have also read throught the FAQ but cant see something that would help, since a 3G modem is just that, a modem, not a router.

Can you help with this problem?
