if he comes very early you should have optimum 5 musket and 5 hussar. let him come. than it depends of his mass if you wait until your next units come or fight him. normaly i let him make some little dammage and than kill his early push. but with your unitmass, minutemen, 8 xbows and 5 hussars + coureurs it should be possible to fight him back. for me it works almost all.

14 vills is standard, but you would have to do 13. You will still lose. France is a good civ, but they aren't that good. They're like the Portuguese of Treaty, if you get what I mean.

EDIT: I don't think Maskinov know that by the time he upgrades his vills hp/attack, that the enemy will be in his base with 11 tommas, killing his barracks vills.

Funny game I joined a major's 1v1 and they were iro, greened up asap. i was sioux

i got a nice party of treasure guardians. Idk what he was doing

I saw his travois about 5 secs after he aged. killed it with my party. he resigned.

Iro beats France 66 % of the time. So iro vs france one of the worst matchups. Ur better off laming ur opponent than going France.

Strelet rush isn't hard, but with iro insane age times, with 4 kanya and ATLEAST 5 toma in your base by 4. 30 mark, I think Russia will be starved of resources. Especially since this kind of rush is an all in no economy noob rush they would almost certainly lose.

I think if you turtle with russia, if you have berries you should be okay, because you have the age 2 hunt/berry card (forgot the name) and turn it into a musk/cossack combo. But if iro ages, Russia died lol.

Yeah with that age 2 card it's not tooo bad. Defs no where near great as hunts but better than nothing. 

Man i love musk cossack with russia. sooo much eco sooo much spam after 7 mins

lol this is BS. my coureurs are already upgraded when any iro player is in my base. if you arent able to do that its your problem. i dont have problems to beat iro with french how i wrote it. btw samwise played the same way vs iro and it worked. its the way to play to get out 5 hussars and 5 muskets when you play this strat. and you dont build offensiv your base. perhaps you dont get the point. iro is lame and strong in the first minutes. but if you know how to play vs them and defend your base the game goes in your direction. and mostly i go 14 vills age up. but i have to agree when you are screwd up with your hunt its difficult. if not i win mostly. 

This may stop the rush but since you have sacrificed a lot of eco to do this you will find you are behind. Iro is even lamer in later ages imo, that's where their strength is.

Sigh... u just don't get it. Samwise iro vs samwise French most of the time iro wins. It wouldn't be a lame civ if it can't even take down French easily.
