Re: < < Scenario Design - Question Thread > >
Hey, thanks a lot! The scenario is almost done, but i could not solve the weird trigger of the Army Attack. I discovered that it, in fact, can only complete a round of trigger before fail so i decided to make that only round longer, giving the player enough time (around 3 Hours) to complete Objetive # 1 and canceling the attacks. That means: (I - II) - A - B - A - B - Failure ---> (I - II) - A - B - 1 - 2 - 3... - X - A - B... - Failure I'm sorry about that way to solve it, but it was the only thing i figured, and now the game develops as i want so... It's some kind of good-but-weird solution. Now, almost at the end of the scenario edition, i want to ask two more questions. I hope that you can help me with these ones. 1. I have placed in my town some City Streets (those made of stone [?], with gas lamps on it. I don't know if that's the name, because my game is in spanish). The point of those is that, when i siege the town, those streets dissapear when they get damaged by cannons (not too bad) AND ordinary units attacks (like Morgan's Overhau Attack, weird because a sword can`t destroy entire streets). I don't know if that's a bug of the game, but i made those street ownership to the player who controls the city first and then to Gaia, but they keep disappearing with attacks, thing that i don't want... 2. My enemy have no Town Center, but a Fort instead. I made a trigger that makes the battle sound to be played when the HP of that building is bellow 99%, almost when the player start attacking it, but i doesn't repeat... I tried looping it, but the result were bad and a cycle of time is the only thing i figured to solve it, but i don't want the sound to be played when the Fort is not sieged (you'll need a really big army, constantly deployed to punish the Fort in one siege... almost impossible). I, acctually, want the music to be played when the Fort is being attacked, just like a normal Town Center... If you know a way to solve these two troubles, please lend me a hand... It's like i need those two details to have the scenario completed... They're not essential, but will give the game the touch of campaign that i really want...

@Kiquenator,
You're most welcome!
Always happy to have been able to help..
Congrats on the scenario..I'll keep an eye out for it..That is..If you decide to release it?.
Your first question..Answer..You could consider..The "Unit make invulnerable" effect for the street sections..You'll need to insert an effect for each street section involved..
Your second question..Answer..You could consider..The "Units in los" condition..Maybe if used in conjunction with your other conditions for this trigger?

Re: < < Scenario Design - Question Thread > >
Hey, thanks again... I made my streets invulnerable and they stopped disappearing, just like you told. Now, the city looks better at the siege point and when it becomes player "base". As for the second trigger, i'm thinking of creating a cycle with the trigger you told me, the Timer and the Percent Damaged conditions. I'm hoping for this to work, althrough testing it will be hard because the Fort siege is the last point of the scenario. A friend is testing it this week and will send me his opinion later so, i'll wait a few days to test the last one. As for releasing it, i'm waiting to see if some friends like the scenario to upload it as a "demo" of a "campaign" (a serie of scenarios). However, the friend that is testing it had a trouble installing the game: a message appeared saying that the scenario couldn't be loaded because it was made in a newer version of the game and that makes it almost unplayable in a computer different from mine's. He's testing the game in my computer, being that the reason of a long time edition. I don't know why does this happened. I don't have another computer to test it and since it can't be played by other PC, i can't upload it to Heavengames. If i find a way to solve this trouble, i will upload it, but at the moment, i haven't found the way to do it. Do you know anything of this? I would appreciate your help , as always... =D

@ Kiquenator,
You're most welcome my friend!
Glad to see the streets worked out..As far as destroying them you'll need to use the "damage unit percent".."Destroy" or "kill" effects..You'll need to experiment to see which one will work..
To address the version differences..Yes we all have to deal with that one..If you're going to release your scenarios..You need to be patched up to be current patch version for the version of the game you're using..
Where you run into problems is..If your scenario version is higher than the person's game version who is playing it..They won't be able to play it..You cannot change your scenario version after it is completed..That's the downside to all this..It's always good to post them what game version the scenario was designed in..As long as their version of the game is equal to or above your version..They can play it.

Scenario design is dead at the present, so it seems..
Not seeing any new designers checking in or asking a question..
We're looking forward to when they do!
