9 of the most commonly asked questions concerning designing maps are answered here
Posted by: PCDUDE Thanks a million kjn, I did what you posted and everything works; now I will check out Heavensgames as you suggested. I would like to see Esemble Studio or Microsoft put some information on Custom Scenario builing in its' game instruction manual; as there is currently none in the manual whatsoever, and I bet allot of gamers are in the dark on this one. Again, thank you for answering my questions. |

Glad I could be of service.. YES!!!It's a real shame..A lot of gamers are and will be in the dark..There is not a lot of documentation on the editor other than what you find in Heavengames/Wiki,and the kindness from others who are willing to help out because they to spent their share of time in the dark at the beginning and have learned what they know the hard way by experimenting and trial and error..Along with the help from kind folks here in this catagory and Heavengames..It seems that scenario design is not a top priority with E.S.. A lot of us have been waiting for E.S.to issue some aid to this portion of our community..Maybe soon?????(A lot of great guys have left because they're fed up and that is sad my friend!.We all lose when this happens). About your other post..Triggers are the answer and the only info on some of them right now is at the Wiki..I realize it's a little hit and miss but..With a little experimenting and some help you'll come up with your effects you're after..If you come upon a snag..Post away and we'll do our best to help out!! Good Luck My Friend! kjnPS..Here's something that may help you!! You need to set a win/lose condition (A Trigger) For your scenario to end.(For example) You have a 4 player scenario..You're player one, and player two are team 1,player 3 and 4 are team 2 Trigger 1 Trigger: active Condition: All units and buildings dead (Player2) Effect: Player 2 defeated Trigger 2 Trigger: active Condition: All units and buildings dead (Player3) Effect: Player 3 defeated Trigger 3 Trigger: active Condition: All units and buildings dead (Player 3) Condition2: All units and buildings dead (Player 4) Effect: Go to main menu There are many different Effects you can put in the last trigger..Experiment!.A simple trigger for this was posted in the sticky Scenario Design Question Thread at the top of this catagory..If you're intrested you could go there and read the post.. |

Posted by: Gus1236 i did, i did everything i ussally do, i got 800 food, made 2 houses a market, what elts am isupposed to do to advance to age 2? |
|
Hello Gus1236As I posted you before..You need to have..A towncenter.. (Not IGC town center)..A Market,Some houses or Mill or Livestock pen and the right amount of resources..You will then be able to age up..To age up you need to go into the towncenter and press the "gold button" with the age number on it.. You'll get a green screen with the politicians and statesmen, ect. in it you choose one and the age up process begins..You can see the progress at the top..The empty bar files with green..(I'm sure you know this)..If this doesn't work for you..I'm not sure why..If you post a bit more details as to what your doing..I'll do my best to help you my friend.. Good Luck! kjnPS..An IGC Towncenter looks just like a regular town center..BUT you can't age up with it..You need a regular Towncenter..It's at he bottom portion of the buildings group under place objects in your editor..This is just a suggestion..Delete your towncenter and place a new one..Make sure it's the regular towncenter and not an IGC towncenter..Then try your scenario again..
