Q: Can I play my custom scenarios online?
A: Not yet. You will have to wait for a game patch with a version higher than 1.02.

thats what i read which means i cant do it with custom scenarios. but 1.03 is out

I do NOT work for ES. As you can read, I said that it will be added in a higher (NOT the NEXT) patch version. ES itself sent some hints, that it will be included probably in April 2006. [Edited on 12/27/2005]

I should, because I made it ;) . If you mean a modified version of Total War III, well then a mess, but I can't control it. [Edited on 12/28/2005]

Hi Python...Any chance you can help with a custom scenario created with the scenario editor?
I gotten as far as being able to set up and play against other cities, but haven't figured how to make native indian villages work, or how to get the AI to acknowledge victory or defeat, or to configure my own card deck for my city. I always seem to get stuck with AI wants to give me.
Any possibility you are able to help with these things?

    Hey mr python

Q: How do I convert my scenario into a random map/skirmish map?
A: You can't. A scenario is a map with a fixed size, player number, terrain, buildings, etc.
A random map/skirmish map will be generated new each time it gets started,
and with the random commands you will learn to create in the tutorial posted in the topic.

It's like that I dont know a bit about programming, and I don't want to do a skrimish map, I just want to play an scenario that I created with my editor, and I want the system to move their units and play, I just made a map and I want 7 comps to fight vs me. Is that hard to make? How can I make it plz? I dont want to make a random map, etc, etc, etc, I have made an scenario and I want to play it, but it's just that the units don't move, plz answer me mr python

To make the AI work in your SCENARIOS, just add an "AI Start" object onto your map for EVERY player.
You also need to add a victory condition for your scenario:
This should work (but no promise):
Make a trigger for EVERY player:
    Conditions:
If player X has 0 buildings
    and
If player X has 0 units
    ... then ...
    Effect:
    Set player X defeated.

Your tutorial looks great. I will try all that you mention. I do have a question (though it may seem stupid or may have been answered indirectly elsewhere). What good are the maps that we create with the AOE III scenario editor? Unlike the previous versions of AOE, we cannot use these maps created with the game editor (even if they are created as 'new' maps in single player or multiplayer (LAN) modes. When you try to use them in the single player mode under custom scenarios, all you can do is play as the 'gaila' player (even though you set up player #1 in the editor as a 'human' player and all teh other players as 'computer' players).

Creating an entire (elaborate) scenario sounds like fun, but appears to take a long time. All my son and I would like to do is create a variety of maps (with resources, etc) to play on in multiplayer LAN games between us and the 6 computer AI players. We've played all the maps the game comes with and would like to try something different for fun.

We will try everything you discuss in you tutorial. Would like to print it out to make it easier to follow, instead of trying to read it and try it while 'online'.

Thanks for all your effort and time.
