Ok ideas are great but too much similarity
I think they should bring back all 4 races and add Chinese, Aztec, African
Tribes, and Persian.
Chinese - like stated have Jade warriors, Terracotta Soldiers, Ninja's
(maybe they are assassins with high attack power low defense and hp) and
Dragons as super Myth units. Maybe they could gain favor by the more units you
create.
Aztecs - Possibly the coolest race to add, Aztecs would gain favor by
killing players units or sacrificing units. This would add a new and unique
aspect to the game. But with this we would have to revamp the Norse race, which
I will get to later in the post.
African Tribes - this would be the most questionable in my opinion. However
I would like to bring a new aspect of the game with this new Race, the Nomadic
way of playing. It would be very difficult to explain and I really hope they
can find something for this race or make a new one. Nomadic living would be new
to the game and it would reward players for moving from settlement to settlement.
Not really sure what to say here, kind of clueless on how to play this race.
Persians – The Persian race would hopefully be a mixture of Middle Eastern
and Indian beliefs. Take Indian religion such as multi-armed warriors and Djinn
and make them warriors. Maybe Genie’s as well, such as the sentries were Hades
power you could have Genie’s that are contained in a lamp and pop out and fight
enemy units close by. Middle Eastern beliefs are hard but I was thinking
Zoroastrianism in a way. Zoroastrianism is basically were religions of the
world get Heaven and Hell. So I was thinking we could have Persians choose
after the first age who to ally with Heaven or Hell. Heaven would offer
stronger structures, self healing classes and unique units such as angels and other
sorts where Hell would offer stronger units and better attack with demons,
Vampires, Specters, etc. Each would be unique and offer a more customized form
of the game.
New Ideas and Concepts-
1.
Unique game
play – I think Age of Mythology 1 was fantastic but in all honesty it felt
like the same game play despite which race you chose. You first settle down
create your walls and gather resources then unleash a devastating army. It got
rather boring after a while. I would like to add unique aspects to each race.
a. Egyptians
would gain Slavery, it allows them to capture other players citizens and use
them (and not add towards population cost). It would also allow them to build
structures 10% faster than other races.
b. Norse
– Pillage allows them to gain resources from destroying enemy structures.
Seafaring would allow them to build ships in 10% of the time and makes their
ships go 20% faster then other ships ( a.k.a. naval units)
c. Greeks
– Greeks gain Intellect. Intellect allows them to research units and technologies
20% faster. Architecture which allows them to build buildings 10% faster and
Organized Fighting which would give a 30% increase to attack and defense
ratings on units when you put them in formation (see Revamps).
d. Atlantians
– Advance Technology would allow the Atlantians to learn technologies 20%
faster and offer different technologies unavailable to other races such as
magic of sorts. Maybe we could also include different weapons like crystal
based weapons and such. Not really sure
e. Chinese
– The Chinese should gain Gunpowder. Now I don’t mean Gunmen to shoot people
down like in Age of Empires 2 (one hit kills…gay) but I mean gunpowder charges,
think of it like fireworks against a building. It does little damage to units
but does a pretty good amount to buildings. The Chinese would also get Silk and
Silk Trade. Silk Trade increases the amount of gold you get for selling
resources at the market and Silk allows you units to slowly regenerate over
time while not in combat of course. Why silk you might ask. Well silk was used
by the Mongol army to protect them from arrows. So if a rider was stricken with
an arrow it could not penetrate the silk. Therefore he would pull both sides of
the silk to get the arrow out.
f. Aztecs
– The Aztecs would gain Blood Spill. For each 10 units the Aztecs kill they
gain a blood counter. At the temple there will be an alter icon where you can
choose new rewards such as units like a Blood Champion or Limited time buffs
like increased combat damage.
g. African
Tribes – the African tribes would gain Forest Walking and Stealth. Forest
Walking would allow them to go through the forest which you previously had to
go around and Stealth would let their units turn invisible when in forest
areas.
h. Persians
– The Persians would gain War Machine. War Machine reduces the population cost
of their warriors and also increases the amount of population the houses hold
(still allowing 10 houses). I took this idea basically from the movie 300 with
Xerxies and his army.
Revamps-
I think we should revamp the Norse race. Make their race so they gain favor
when they destroy a building. Not only do they gain favor they have the unique
ability to pillage. Pillaging offers a small amount of resources (depending on
the structure, most would offer gold and wood). However, destroying the temples
of enemies would result in a loss of favor (mainly seen as loosing favor with
the Gods).
I also think AoM2 would need to revamp formations. Formations would allow
certain units when put together to gain different advantages and disadvantages.
Bad Ideas - I have seen a lot of bad ideas on this forum and ill
point them out.
1. Romans - the Romans have the same religious system as the Greeks
you would just be reinventing the Greek class. Totally pointless.
2. Indian (Native Americans)- although Indians (Native
Americans) would be cool we do not know enough about their religious
beliefs and all traditions to understand it besides that each tribes religion
differs in their own way.
3. Japan
and China
both playable races - they are to similar to make them into different races it
would get annoying
