Some tips for Iro (mainly involving the fire pit)

In most team games that go past colonial for both sides, you'll have to at some stage make the shift from mines to plantations. I find the best thing to do here is to put ten or so villagers on the fire pit and spawn travois' to make plantations, but there are other dances to do while you're there.

    -Holy dance for Medicine men-

It's almost certainly worth getting one of these guys to heal your soldiers (especially the warchief) in between battles. Having the warchief go down in every single fight is such a pain, and his heal rate when just standing still is a little slow. Putting him to one side with a medicine man around your FB and letting him heal after a fight is worth it IMO.

    -Alarm dance for Warriors-

These are the minutemen of the native civs. They don't use population and spawn very quickly. I think keeping 5 of them in your base to shoot at any raiders is worth it, especially if the raiders are dim enough to go around chasing them while your pest control squad makes its way back to base.

-Earth mother dance for population boost-

The appeal for this one is quite simple. 1 dancer allows you to have 1 more on your maximum population. If you have a monster economy and just need a little advantage over your opponent in a military stalemate, then this is your dance. I personally find that it's better to put the villagers on dances, build your extra units, and then put the villagers back where they belong. (this is only advisable when you aren't fighting, since you don't want to be microing your tiny stupid villagers back to their farms while your soldiers are being murdered. [:^)])

Please note that the first two dances are very much 'while you're there' type dances. I don't think it's a good idea to randomly take ten villagers off gathering so you can make a medicine man or some warriors in the middle of an intense colonial fight.

Remember that if you ally with the ports from your consulate it also lowers the food cost of aging up.

The early Skrimishers and Dragoons cards are very powerful in team games

If you start out with a envoy or native scout make them explore while your exploerer collects treasures because they arent that helpful defeating guardians.

Never set Gendarmes to trample mode.

Know what's weird? Day by day, nothing seems to change. But pretty soon, everything's different.

when fighting an indian brahmin against your explorer, stand next to a treasure guardian, which will attack the guardian with the splash damage, and the guardian will attack the brahmin allowing you to win easily

when siegeing a building with pikes such as an outpost, whatever pike is being fired on should be switched to cover mode

never trust mykai, hes a dumbass

and damn it matt, stop changin your name and your avatar, its confusing me

Do you use the word "pretentious" in a pretentious manner? The belief of "pretentious" being pretentious might itself be pretentious, but that would than further go to prove that the word "pretentious" is pretentious.

this works occasionly. if you can lets take the brits as an exapmple. send 10 longbows scout enemy base, and have 5 more go near some other part of base so opponent makes cav, then go pure musk and get around 40 in 10 mins.

trick: stay 2 steps infront of enemy, even if you need to make them make expensive units that will get slaughtered.

Strelets are good against light cavalry

Pikemen are good against light infantry

Musketeers are bad for destroying ships by the coast.

If there is a native scout treasure always get it and check out the opponents army.

Never mass a single unit (unless your jap ashiagru spamming)

when in doubt build some calv.
