@ aoe_99 , franch ski 306hp=437effective hp(30%Rr) and 36 attack
cas 231hp=462 effective hp(50%rr) and 37 attack , so cas>franch ski
You cant assume that skirmishers will only be attacked by other ranged units, so a french skirm is "better" vs hussars than cassadors, besides this fact a skirmisher is cheaper (50 food/65 gold) than a cassador (80 food/40 gold).
nah it isnt cheaper. 30/0.64 = 46,875 vill seconds more in terms of food cost for cassa 25/0,5 = 50 vill seconds less in terms of coin cost for a cassa (unupgraded values have been used because I know those by heart, that shouldnt change much in essence though since both res can be upgraded equally much iirc) EDIT: nvm it appears that gold has way more upgrades.

nah it isnt cheaper. 30/0.64 = 46,875 vill seconds more in terms of food cost for cassa 25/0,5 = 50 vill seconds less in terms of coin cost for a cassa (unupgraded values have been used because I know those by heart, that shouldnt change much in essence though since both res can be upgraded equally much iirc) EDIT: nvm it appears that gold has way more upgrades.
actually these value are not too usefull , gold have way too many upgrades actually its 30/1.3=23.07 and 25/1.037=24.1 cas are 1vs cheaper, concept of vs is very wrongly used in tr , as none actually adjust them according to that civ , i am going to post a topic about is soon with analysis of some civs

Regardless, food still gathers significantly faster for port, and for most civs, compared to coin. Cass are still cheaper than regular skirms.

if cass had a cost of 50 f 65 coin they would be so op in sup, and port wouldn't drain almost at all in tr sooo... i think it's fine were it is cass are boss btw.

I think we just calculated (or they) that cass are actually cheaper at their current cost.
+1 if cas cost 50g and 65g , than port will drain fast , they will be expensive in "vs"

in vill seconds, but not actual resources. you cant have less than 80 food and 40 coin and make a cassador. what im saying is that if they had an ACTUAL cost of 50 f 65 c they would be one of the most cost effective units in the game.
