IMO if kerk legitimately stole an account, there is no question that he should not get his account back, because its obviously very wrong to steal an account, and its not like he wouldn't have known better, but I don't think he stole an account.

Woot, my threads still here. i was hoping it would be.

I noticed that aloysius has yet to answer kerkumus's question about whether or not he can make a new account if he buys a new cd and changes his IP. this leads me to beleive that he can, but they don't really want him to.

I didn't take any accounts, I never changed the passwords on any accounts except the ones I legally own. Every other account's password was the same as the day I started using it, unless it was changed by it's original owner (Energie was changed a few months back so that only me, it's original owner and someone else could use it).

I'm surprised a company as technical as Robot can't compare the password hashes when looking at these "account theft" cases and see that the password hash hasn't changed in months. It's not like they could infer the password from the hash, but it's a good diagnostic tool for understanding if account theft really took place.

Aloysius would rather accuse people of things he knows they didn't do than admit a mistake, that way he can play the "perfect moderator" even when he's clearly in the wrong. Besides Aloysius, I authorised you to violate my privacy and post your proof of account theft pertaining to me, are you going to do it or are you going to keep accusing me and Kerk without proof?

Nope, wackos name is Donnie Thompson, according to the archives, and according to RE's website, aloysius real name is Duncan stanley. It also says that he joined ESO in 2007, so that rules out solus, paragon, milo, and thunder. If he was a moderator before, assuming he is according to metis, that leaves lethe, zeo, and kingpin4life, lethe being the only one who had any posts. Although maybe its someone else like swinger, who knows.

I see this whole situation like this:

1. Robot Entertainment and Aloysius will not discuss this openly, until they will I will continue to resurrect this thread.

2. RE and Aloysius do not want open discussion because they fear backlash as a result of this and continue to censor any efforts to discuss this in an open, civil manner.

3. RE and Aloysius lob accusations at Kerkumus, labeling him as an "account thief", despite their being evidence of a setup. They refuse to issue an apology and retract their accusations, in addition to also not producing evidence that proves he is infact an account thief.

4. RE and Aloysius refuse to investigate any incidents beyond simply IP checks, this policy is careless and stupid, it will only lead to excessive false-positive bannings.

5. RE and Aloysius prefer to label Kerk an "account thief" so that they can avoid banning people of "account sharing", which would completely  destroy the game, yet banning a large number of people simply because Kerk accessed their accounts is seemingly acceptable.

6. Due to the above, I'm almost inclined to think they do it in order to make said victims of blanket-banning buy the game again and that their  refusal to discuss this is because of the fact they know their policy is wrong.

I also like how you don't answer any of my questions on here or when I send emails asking the same questions over and over and over and get no answers.

I'll ask again,

If I buy a new cd key,get a new ip, am I allowed to come out and say " hey guys this is my new account. " Or will I be banned if I'm found out by RE, which it seems that you are implying to me, b/c you aren't giving me a straight forward answer.

As far as I can remember you've never played on SirDE (if you did it couldn't have been more than a one-off) and you were never one of the main people to play on Energie, you used it like 10-15 times total if I can remember right.

If you count out SirDE that means you've played on even fewer accounts than you listed and I really can't remember you playing on anything else tbh.

What kind of emails are you sending? Talking about picking up girls on Twitter isnt the way to go.

Sharing accounts is not allowed. You cant share accounts and then bombard the moderators saying how unjust it is. The nicer you are the more chance they will help you reach an amicable solution.

Use the contact address on the Robot website apologise for the account sharing and ask if purchasing a new CD key would be acceptable.

ES_Swinger is Chris Rupp and he's a musician. 

I've already answered kerk's inquiry over PM and email about if he can get a new cd-key and accounts, etc about 2 days ago.  He's welcome to share that information, but I cannot.

This "account sharing is bad and Robot should be able to ban it" bit is really getting old, I propose the same question to everyone who says it: Then we should ban the 60-70% of people on ESO who've used a shared account?

The policy is idiotic and will lead to nothing but large-scale problems, Aloysius can carry through with the policy if he pleases, but I'd prefer if he wouldn't accuse people of account theft when all he has as "proof" is "Oh he signed onto XYZ account.", he could compare password hashes over the months (it would take a matter of minutes, I imagine), see that the password wasn't changed and know that "account theft" is not the right thing to ban them for.

Aloysius should just come out and say it: "I ban people for account sharing whenever I feel like it, but wouldn't dare do it to everyone who's ever shared accounts because I'd destroy what's left of the game"

Surely though the only reason kerk was banned was because his name turned up in an account that was reported as stolen??

Either he was set up (possible) or the account was actually stolen (also possible).

Sharing an online account can be construed as theft of service.
