    From FAQ:

    1335 and 1305
These are file read errors. 1335 indicates a corrupt cab file and might be a bad disk or bad CD-Rom reader. The test is to try to copy the entire contents of the CD to the hard drive (xcopy is best). If it fails to copy you either have a bad drive or bad CD-Rom.

    1305
This is an error that results from trying to read from a file and may also be due to a corrupt cab file or other corrupted file on the CD, or a file that's copied to the temp directory that hits a flaky sector. If it's not the CD-Rom or the CD drive, then move the temp location. Related information from Microsoft Technical Support: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/873281

    From Mod's

This is an installation problem where the installer is unable to read the files from either the disk or the windows temp folder (where they are unpacked to during the install process).  First simply make sure the disk and drive are clean and that you have the latest firmware/drivers for your optical drive.   If that fails this is what I suggest is to:

    • Reboot your computer with a "Clean Boot"
    • Make sure you have all the windows updates.
    • If you have XP verify you have the Windows installer 3.1 v2 service installed.
    • Browse to and empty your windows temp folder. You can find your temp folder by clicking start=> run, then type %temp%, click ok.
    • De-fragment your hard drive
    • Create a folder named Age3install on your hard drive.
    • Then manually copy the contents of all the age3 disks into that age3install folder.
    • There will be a few small oddly named files on the first disk that will not copy over, that is normal and will not affect things.
    • Once everything has been copied over, browse to that age3install folder
    • Find and run the setup.exe located there.
    • The age3 setup should start.

Installation problems: most common is the error 1305

Using Mr.Maro's method i have gotten AOE3 working, but will this mean i can no longer play WarChiefs, as whenever i try installing, it tells me that Age of Empires III is not installed, this setup will exit.

    i dont.

I have also found that ESO doesnt support my game version.

plus, the art bar which caused the problem means there are no trees on the map, and half the cities are just black screens.

on a different site i was told to use the trial version art1.bar to get the game working, and this is probably why.

this message appears when attempting to download the patch:

    C:\Users\Alex\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\NB96FNPM\aoe3-112-english[1].exe is not a valid Win32 application.

wherever i try to save it something similar appears.
