Subject: In-Game Play Button Grayed Out

Hi. I installed Asian Dynasties last night (I only have 1 installation disc unlike maybe a few who have 3). It installed and when I run it, the cutscenes work, the volume's fine, the graphics are good, and when it comes to the home city, a few buttons are greyed out. When I click on Skirmish, it asks me for my name and I type it in. Then the list of choosing home cities/civilization appears. I choose one and click on Create Home City but when I go back, the Play button is greyed out. The only clickable button in the menu is Manage Home Cities>Create a New Home City (even to Select or Delete a Home City is disabled). When I go back to the civilization menu and choose the same civilization it says a Home City is already made. But no matter what civililization I choose, my home city looks the same (the default home city when you install TAD for the first time). When I exit the game, and I re-launch it, I'm asked for my name again. I also don't have any of my saved games. I've never had a problem with this with War Chiefs. Could anyone please tell me what's going on? Basically, I can't play the game since the "play" button is greyed out. So I'm just stuck navigating in circles on the menu. Please help me =( Thanks in advance!

P.S.-  I also updated my game thinking it would be fixed but I just tried it one more time and I still have the same problem. My system specs are Windows XP Pro with SP2, nVIDIA GeForce 8600M, 2.4 GhZ, Intel Core Duo 2 Processor

<edit> I just did a test campaign and I am able to play campaigns. Just not skirmishes. How strange... </edit>

When you enter your username did you pick a civ and then click closed?

Or did you just click closed when you entered your username?

I would type in a username, then choose a civilization. It would make a home city but I would never be able to play. So with nothing to do I close the game.

When I relaunch (hoping I would now actually be able to play a civilization) it asks for my username again. However, it seems to remember which home cities I have created. I just cannot really access them.

Is the new patch mandatory? Does it fix any major glitches? It took me an hour and 15 minutes to download it (yes, I know my internet connection isn't the best).

Also, just so I can reinstall it right, after I uninstall it, and put the CD back in. It automatically jsut detects the folder in which the Age of Empires and the Age of Empires--War Chiefs files are in, right? I don't recall having to locate (or even having the option to locate) the directory in which the folder would be installed. I'm just surprised that I had no installation problems and yet I'm unable to battle.

no not if you want to play ESO

    But I would do it

If you go to http://eso.com/gameUpdates_yp.aspx it will be faster to download them just downloading it from the eso game

When you unistall it make sure you deleted all your save stuff when it ask it

    Should work
