Re: Age 4- World Wars
"At the outbreak of World War II, the Indian army numbered 205,000 men. Later during World War II the Indian Army became the largest all-volunteer force in history, rising to over 2.5 million men in size.[1] These forces included tank, artillery and airborne forces. Indian soldiers won 30 Victoria Crosses during the Second World War."

Emp. Rommel:Doesn't surprise me. They were defending thier native land, naturally they would want to make an all out effort.
they fought in north africa, europe and burma.
they were defending common wealth nations and their interests.

Re: Age 4- World Wars
I know that.... I was just saying that was more than likely the driving force behind the huge effort, after all, the indian seperatist movement was as strong as ever during the war.
Canada wouldn't have stood a chance at that anyway, as at that time, the french and english could never get along.... the english saw it as a fight for the mother country, while the french saw it as a fight that didn't involve them. The english got mad at the fact the french contributed such "little" support to the war effort, and everybody got angry when mackenzie instituted conscription, despite promises not to. Then he had to go and sign that dam joint defence agreement, which the americans rarely honored, and the free trading, which has done nothing but cause problems...

Emp. Rommel:Britian's airforce barely managed to pull it off, and a large portion of it was Canadians. WW2 CANADA IS INDEPENDANT, AND AS SUCH SHOULD HAVE ITS OWN CIV. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO BELIEVE IT ISN'T WORTH BEING PUT IN THE GAME, OPEN A BOOK.

Re: Age 4- World Wars
Several countries made noteworthy contributions to WWII, not every country can be considered a global power during that timeframe. Also, people are misinterpreting the difference between a country and a civilization. Technically speaking, the UK, Canada, US, and Australia are the same basic civilization...but all are unique countries. To keep gameplay interesting, ES won't make four civs that are basically mirror images of each other. For all those that want Canada, Australia, etc. to be included there should be a catch-all British Commonwealth civ. To give credit where credit is due, how about have unique home-city cards? Use the "Canadian Pilots" card, and the attack power of fighter aircraft is increased. Use the "ANZAC Battalion" card and 10 ANZAC soldiers appear at your town center. This acknowledges the contribution of each nation without requiring that they be a separate civ. We're still thinking of civ's along the lines of AoEIII and the predecessors. If AoEIV uses a stronger engine, there may be a way for ES to fit the top two dozen countries of the 20th century as playable options. It would take some creativity to make each one unique, but I don't doubt that we will be impressed with the next offering.

Re: Age 4- World Wars
Well, since folks are so insistent on putting the entirety of the commonwealth under britain, despite the fact we went seperate ways over 60 years ago. Perhaps they should program them in as civs under britian....
And To poster above previous poster, that isn't true. Open a book, and you'll find out that Canada did a heck of a lot more than many countries during the war. Rommel is qouted as saying rather than birthday congratz, he would have a canadian tank squadron to fight for him.
and another canadian general is qouted as saying
"May the fields be fertile, and produce grow well, for the best blood of canada was freely poured out upon them"
