Wvery time I start playing a particular civilization I notice another civilization that I have alot of trouble against. For instance Ottoman vs the Dutch. But this time I ha ve run into trouble vs the Aztec.

My game play type is superamacy and it 1 vs 1. Basically I find it near impossible to kill mass coyote runners unless I have equal numbers of muskets, unit upgrades and have managed to kill a few of hteir priest.

The aztec unit combo of coyote runners and maces feels kinda unstopable for me because

1. Coyote do fairly well vs the russian cossack
2. Coyote do extremly well vs villager are fast and have stealth
3. Coyote  do extremly well vs muskets and the Russian player has to hit and run micro inorder to win vs equal numbers of Coyotes.
   
4. When maces are mixed with coyotes they will kill equal numbers of their counters.
   

How do you handle the Aztec as a Russian player?

Musks counter Coyote and Li. They also have a HR so even russian musks should be able to beat them. the best combo would be musks and cossak but watch out for puma spearmen. Or you ff make art and halb/strelets or musk/strelets. but make sure the aztec cant reach age 3 or you will have eagle/jagua/arrow knights to deal with, and they are such a hassle.

As far as I can tell, verses the Aztecs the only thing the Russians have going for them is how fast they can replace their infantry. (They get it instantly with Fencing School, TEAM DUeling School, and STanding Army). MAximize your eco and soldiers through every upgrade card and improvement available. Advanced Arsenal is invaluable. Also, recon must be priority. Use Hot Air Balloons. Take out their military buildings ASAP. Good luck.
