This is a strat for 1v1 sup, any map vs any civ. It beats rushes and also gives you an early eco for attacking other boomers. I posted the idea a long time ago on another site but never wrote the B.O. as I do here:
Important Cards:
- 3 vil (1st card)
- Colonial Militia
- Improved Buildings
- Stadhauder (explorer card)
- 2 towers
- 8 skirms
- 9 ruyters
First priority is to build a bank. Not age II. Bank. You'll keep your TC making vils of course so you need some on gold. Keep as little gold on-hand as possible so that you have more on food/wood and get the 1st bank earlier. The first bank should start going up at about 3:00.
Now move all but 2 off of the mine and start working on the 2nd bank. It should go up at around 4:50. You'll need a 2nd house around this time since you'll be at 20 vils by now.
No vils on gold now. Build a market and scout for the rush. You will have 2 shipments saved up and if you do see the rush coming, send the CM and IB cards. Otherwise, save those shipments for III.
Chop to 250w and use the market to buy the last 100w and that 3rd bank should go up at around 6:00. 25 vils + 3 banks = 39 vil eco at 6:10 = GG vs any civ. Move all vils to food and you should have 800f by 6:45 for a fortress time of 8:45. Get market upgrades as you advance.
While aging, start chopping wood and building houses because you'll be at 100pop in no time.
In III, Send 8 skirms and 9 ruyters while making more units from rax/stable.
What to do if they rush:
Your tools vs the rush are:
- Market
- CM TC
- 6 MM
- 15 MM
- Upgraded explorer + dog
- 3 banks
Send CM, IB and explorer cards.
Use the market to ensure you have what you need for minutemen and repairs. Get great coat there too.
With no rax and you being in discovery, the only thing for them to do is go for your TC Erm...no. Lets see how u go when they house you. Use your explorer+dog to help defend and buy them back alive if appropriate. You're dutch, you can afford the gold. Wait until the TC's about 10 seconds from destruction and call out 15/21 minutemen. You'll either chase him away or kill his whole army. Repair. He will come back in 50 seconds and 1 hit ur whole army, and since u already called out MM u cant again
If he does get your TC down, you have some hope still because a new TC is only 200w.Better to let it go down IMO This price also is also fantastic after you've defended the rush and are needing to expand in III.
The rest is all very situational and requires quick thinking and good scouting. A rush is usually easy to beat. You're most vulnerable to a semi-FF raider. If a raider pushes you off a resource, just mine gold and buy/ship what you need Ur making it sound so much easier than it is.
