Age of Empires - Install problems
After Windows XP and DirectX problems I had to uninstall Age of Empires III and The Asian Dynasties. After that I tried to re-install these programs. Although after Autoplay I got the window with the install button the program told me always I had to uninstall the games - even after I deleted ALL registry items. Nevertheless, I can play these games when I choose them in program manager. Now I bought "The War Chiefs" too and tried to install - it was told that Age of Empires is not installed. Furthermore I get a message that FirewallInstallHelper wasn't found, though the file is in directory. Can anyone help?

Re: Age of Empires - Install problems
Give a try to Tuneup Utilities 2010. It is great for solving such problems. :-) Here is link for their website : http://www.tune-up.com/products/tuneup-utilities/ Try the trial version. I hope it would help you solving the registry problem.

Thank you for the hint, Babri, but unfortunately it didn't solve the problem. I think that other people who tried to reinstall AoE can tell me about their experiences.

This problem happened with my bro too. He uninstalled the whole game. And then reinstalled it all over. Don't forget to make a backup of your save games before doing so.Â

No, not more. Unfortunately, Microsoft gives absolutely no support.

In the Control Panel, in Add/Remove programs, select the Age of Empires III games and select Uninstall. Once that process completes, reinstall all of the games.

Guenzel:How I said, AoE is not listed furthermore in the control panel.
Hmmm... It seems that only reinstalling windows could solve this problem. :-(
