Yes, 100 more pop will make it lag.

2v2 for example, thats 400 more units.

And it will be playable online with other people who have the mod. 

People will, like with all mods, be unable to play online on ESO, since access will be denied as ESO scans the important data files to prevent cheating. I've heard however that there are other ways to play AoE3 online, and that some of them might have the ability to play with installed mods. For obvious reasons players should have the same version of the mod of course...

Well people could play the fan patch online.

There will a Single Player Campaign in the mod, but not in the upcoming Alpha version. We're working on it however, so a Beta may have a Campaign.

Anything not officially released by Ensemble Studios (or BHG of course) cannot be played on ESO. This is just to prevent people cheating with modded files, so it's no bad idea, but for the modding community it just sucks. So definitely Knights and Barbarians will not be playable on ESO unless Ensemble would support it. But the chance they will ever do is not really big I think...

Knights and Barbarians is a title meant to communicate the idea of contrasting entities: the knight and the barbarian. The Greek origin of the word barbarian described, in effect, a foreigner and implied a distinct inferiority. On the other hand, a knight represents an entity far from inferior: the ruling monarch. In a native lord's kingdom, few things are more familiar -and less foreign- than a knight. Gameplay is designed to reflect this as the factions play in unique ways. Which factions represent the knights and barbarians is open to interpretation; perhaps each civilization represents a kingdom of familiar knights fighting the inferior foreigners.

If it gets big enough, maybe we could make a petition for ES to support it?

Yeah you can, just because you give a petition to a government doesn't mean they have to give a damn what you want...

So? If half the online community wanted something reasonable I'm pretty sure ES would listen.
