Subject: Is the Chinese FI viable?

I was talking to a pro yesterday and he suggested I try out a Chinese fast industrial. I did it on Texas vs a Dutch guy. My BO was

Standard Chinese age up [17 vils] and FF. During age up I put 9 villagers on wood to get a trade post. After aging I researched the market upgrades etc.

After I started the wonder with approx 5 villagers I shipped the 700 wood and researched all the market upgrades. Had about 8 villagers on gold and 15 on food. 7 on wood. This is around 8-9 mins. During this time I got up my second trade post and consulate. Allied with Russia for the factory/fort. I had a two shipments available as soon as I aged so sent the 1000 gold first, then wood. researched Disciplined Pike/Chu Ko Nu. Aged at 12 mins or so. it was just a matter of sending 21 Pike and CKN, then Old Han reforms. All this time the Summer Palace had been producing units so I upgraded them all the Honored status. It was just a matter of sending that absurd army into his base.  he had lingered in colonial trying to get up all his banks, so his entire army at 13-14 mins consisted of 30 hussars, not veteran. It was basically gg.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated, as well as constructive criticism.

its definately viable, especially in that mu on that map.

however you will have to feel your way into IV, in many cases its just not gonna work because you will get pressured too much.

what wonders are you using? make sure to use chuk in 1 ctrl group and pike in another ctrl group for easy movement, since china army is so big.

I'm using Summer Palace to get to colonial. Then, depending on if I think he's going to rush, use the flying crow wonder for the arquebusiers. If he's sitting back I use the Porcelain tower and set it to wood. That way I can switch a few more vils over to food. Thanks for the ctrl group tip. i also tried to ship repelling volley for the 3x damge.
