Subject: Quick little question about upgrading Trading Posts

When you go to upgrade a trading post on a trade route, it tells you that it will upgrade for all players. Does this mean that...

    A. All players with a Trading Post, on a trade route, will benefit from faster and larger shipments, or...

    B. If a player destroys that particular Trading Post and then rebuilds their own, that's how they stand to benefit.

    Thanks.

A route is upgraded for all of the trade posts along it. It is oftentimes a strategic decision whether or not to upgrade a route that your opponent has also built on or to wait and see if he will do it.

always upgrade the trade route regardless of what the player is doing. the most viable tactic is make sure you get the trading upgrade before the Colonial age market upgrades. this is both for standard and treaty.

Yeah I finally noticed today how minor two of those Colonial market upgrades really are -- 10% for wood and coin, 20% for food I believe. Now I'm not quite so urgent in getting them.

The more costeffective army can win vs a more expensive (better unit) because they can just keep throwing them at the other player.

Market ups are a priority for pretty much any civ. You see a marked difference in food production before and after hunting dogs and steel traps. In addition, you have to get at least the first two wood upgrades before you even consider chopping wood. these ones can wait until you've shipped 700w /600w. But hunting dogs and placer mines pretty much every civ should get.

You're a noob and you suck at supremacy.

Spoken like a true profession attempters. In my OP always correct opinion the right way to do it is trading post upgrade which gives you an extra card(3 Hussars or 5 villagers), or you can have it quickly pays for its self by placing it on the resource you need. its far more OP my way

Vranak, only upgrade tradeposts in treaty or on maps like Texas, where you can control an entire route. It helps because with stagecoach, you can set it on resources to get a good mass going.

ya ur right with ottomans u get advanced tradepost, which has more hp and shoots enemies which is really good. Also, ottomans can get all the xp or wood that they need from trade route. Or set it on food and move more to coin to spam OP grenadiers (u can send 2 hp  cards for them in age 2!!! and fast training grenadier!!!)

Ahh another one of my students, so proud of your improvement buddy. Glad to see that you are improving your gameplay with my new FC Grenadier strategy, pretty soon you'll be almost as good as me Big Smile As you said about the trade route ideas that is correct, more Grenadiers = faster win, or Grenadiers that have 2 card upgrades will win even faster

i forgot to mention otto get artillery attack card in age 2!, which makes them even more OP Big Smile

Also, if you can get to fortress you can also Petard Smother the opponent (courtesy of tacticalwillie) since u get fast training art card. (not instant but still train pretty fast)
