    I totally agree I am not as good as most but I just love the dutch. The only downside is no musketeers. So theres good ranged and good mele but no unit thats good at both

    by far the best nation is the germans because their military is so varied and the cab get good mercs from their home city!

    I think it totaly depends on your game play and what you prefer, all civs are good in there own way, i personally like ottoman, because they produce settlers automaticly which means you can consentrate more on the battle, and they also have realy strong units, Eg. Jans, Abus, Grate bombard... i also like russians for there opricks raids
    Were not retreating...were just attacking in the other direction!

    German skirms are better then Dutch skirms, I would stick to the Dutch Halbs, they can beat a fair bit of infantry as well as cavalry, just that Dutch cavalry SUCKS!!!
    I play as the Russians, only problem i have is getting the balance between buildings and houses (building batches of units means more houses needed faster)

    The best nation for me is the portugese because i have had a lot of succsess with them and got them to lvl 27 the are a lot easyer than any other civ
