Build a wall around ure base they cant do anyhthing 2 brake it down. (fast Wall= easier to fight of rushes, u will need the villager fast build card) then do w/ everyone else has said, i dont know because i also play Germans (wagon rushing is a bad idea and really expensive..)

Well how about being dutch and mass skirms for WW and Hussars to flank the mortars and another hint make a fake base and let him mess around at that an strike his town as hard as you can.

The wagon rush, if done perfectly, is nearly impossible to stop. I'm a captain in DM, and another skilled player performed a wagon rush against me, and I was using the Dutch. I massed 125 Ryuter, pumped more ryuter as needed, made skirms, had 5-6 cannon at any given time, and even managed to formulate and eco and get all 7 of my towers in a defensive fall-back formation. Yes, I stopped his rush and was able to push back into the base he used to flank my side, but in doing so I wasted nearly all my resources, sold all my wood, and was left with maybe an army of 25 when the fighting was over. Even though my eco was starting to boom, he also was able to build his eco since his skill allowed him to micro at a highly advanced rate. If you play a captain or above who wagon rushes you, the chances of your success are very slim even if you manage to stop the rush. Ever since, I have switched to German and I perform the very same rush with a few of my own personal tweaks, and I have yet to lose. People underestimate the ability to micro economy at the same time a battle is underway, and as a result they implement a pure military defensive. With depleted resources, a German can regroup and send another 50 wagons by selling all wood, getting a few mills up and running, two factories producing... all in about 8 minutes. Usually, players don't have a full-blown economy until about 6-7 minutes, and if your spending a majority of time defending your base... its going to take you at least 15 if you manage to push the rush off.. but the power of German wagons will allow his second rush to occur at 10 minutes tops, and your only going to be half ready.
It's an intense obstacle to be sure, and the only thing that has ever challenged my rush is the dispersal of units to raid my economy. But in the end, its a gutsy move for anyone to send 25 cavalry to my base when I've got 50 wagons eating his base alive, and I had strategically placed my outposts to prevent such a thing from happening. As a German, you have to know what your trying to destroy when you rush, the key is to eliminate his villi count, his Tc, and his houses. it doesn't matter if you lose 100 wagons if you get his villies, tc and houses. Game over.

I would say that any counter-cavarly unit, (except heavy and slow hand infantry, such as Halberdier) would do the trick. Ruyters and/or Dragoons are what you want, possibly cannons might also be good but remeber that War Wagons are cavarly and have some resistance against cannon fire.

Well i played a few DM, and i got rushed (on Gplains, of course), by about 60 WW.

I was Russia, and i had HC lv.12, so i didn't have instant infantry. All i had was instant cav, so i spammed about 95 Cav. Archers, and i won. I didn't even need to do any micro, nor go oprichnik burn his town, nor even make canon. All i did was Cav archers, even when he went to dopes, and i still won.

 Tartars are unbeatable...

I just ran into this problem a few days ago in a game. I was spanish and sent my dog over to his base as soon as the game started.

I saw that he was making war wagons, and in about 1 minute i had 100 terchio out and taking down his stables and war wagons.

He didnt have enough time to spam and I easily won.

The advice to defeating war wagons is to attack early and prevent them from getting them out and build heavy infantry such as pikemen or halbs.

Lol.... please, whatever you do, don't use heavy artillery against war wagons, it is pure suicide.

use mass amount of pikemen and halbediers plaus the odd amount of musketeers.

Kaarle_W i just want to ask u a question what will u do if u are a russian player and u get rushed by some German wagon? wont u train halberdiers? even if its slow its efficace i wish u will answer me soon ty.
