Okay, I am a good Dutch player and average French and German player. I have just started playing with aztecs and they are so confusing, i lost my first 4 games in a row out of which three were against ottomans :(. I think i need to play more with them in single player to get used to them but i will appreciate some tips.

 I tried rushing ottomans at around 7:00 min but abus guns ate my macehualtin and jans took care of my coyote runners and if i allow the battle to IV or V age then ottomans outscore aztecs economically.

Whats the best aztecs playing style?
I am gonna try ottomans in single player skirmish today at expert difficulty.

Against ottoman they do usually BBR if i am correct. (BBR=big button rush). The idea is that you get fast macehualtin shipments and big button jaguar knights. If you use them correctly with stealth, they will kill both jans and abus guns. Also when you are out of jaguar knights, keep making machualtin and coyote runners, i doubt he will make many abus guns since jans hardly counter coyote runners, so you should be able to kill them.

And meanwhile keep your settler production going and outboom him.

If you want to beat ottomans  economically you need to send in a distranction than send in a siege group to take out houses and thee mosque which really affects their population capacity and then destroy their defenses little by little (always have a back up army so they don't counter attack) until youcan siege this city down to the ground. i do this with the sioux.

Probably just mass maceys and yeah BB's and later on coyotes. You want to distract the ottoman forces with maces then sneak in some jags or coyotes in the side to take care of abus. I hate it when aztec players do this to my abus, the maces kill jans easy and the coyotes/jags own the abus. Very frustrating. Also if you can get in some Puma Shipments, yes do use them when your main forces are engaged with the ottomans and take out houses then barracks then everything else.

In my opinion, Aztecs really arent that great at rush, but because the ottomans have so few choices of troops, Aztec Maces, coyotes, and pumas along with sum big buttons should be able to kill any type of ottoman army.  Most ottos will only make jans or only make abus or a combo of the two because most otto players are noobs (just my opinion dont get offended).  And by the way, fire pit will pretty much allow you to easily dominate.  You can very quickly put like 10 vills on fire pit just to get sum fast warrior priests out.  Then send vills back to work and u have a very effective fire pit.  You can use the fast production dance to boom (my personal favorite) and you can use the combat damage dance (dont kno the name) to dominate even further with ur military.  By the way, Aztecs pretty much pwn ottos late game I think.

I tried to do that once and I couldnt get the file to run, what program do I need fpr those things?

HAHAHAHAHhahahaha ha ha ha.... beating ottomans with aztecs that a funny one. hmmm if your opponent is stupid enough to make pure jans you may stand a chance if you have a fire pit dance support mahuktans. I would go for a semi ff and try to send some skull/jaguar cards or maybe use 11 spanish people. (just one the side i said this before a patch that will hopefully boost aztecs)

Aztecs should do just fine against Otts.

Use Mace + Coyote combo, or, just BB all 21 Jag prowl knights in coloniel.  In melee, Jag prowlers = 2 Jans.  Stealth means you can get right next to them before you attack.  Abus can get caught particularly nastily by Jags in stealth.

Make sure you get all 21 Jags though, the last BB is particularly good value for money.
