    theres many ways you can use pikeman just want some strategies

    Doesnt matter what team you use them with

    Well, when i use them with spanish i try to make a combo of pikemen and lancers.

    the pikemen take out horses and buildings and lancers artillery, infantry, and villagers.

    i think the pikemen are useless.. i made 50 last nite playin around and they guy i was going against had like 10 pike and 20 skirms  and he almost killed my 50 pikemen..

    My strategy with pikemen is: never build them! In sup they are strong in a good rush with much player but in DM they are absolutely useless! I like to play vs somebody who does this pikeman-rush because they are really easy to pwn Wink.

    I totally agree with winner17. Pikemen are really bad in DM, dont use them...

    i think pikemen are good for defending it keeps the enemy at bay espesially when someone rushes with hussars.

    Pikemen are good for spearing fish if you have a water map.

    I use pikeman rarely, but if opponent has many horse units or defensive building, then I make them.

    Unless you are spain they just arent worth building as they are 30% behind other units for their stats.

    Some times not building pikeman is a good strategy HOWEVER the civ i build them against are Germans because they make quick work of the war wagons and then you sewnd hussars to kill his skirms and hit his eco...

    Pike are only good if you send them with other troops who can protect them e.g. skirmishers, hussars.  Never send them alone you will get owned.

     Pikes also are not good against inf so do not send them against a group of 20-30 skirmishers because most of them will die before you get to habd-hand contact.
