I know you have answered this before, but I cannot get the custom maps to work in skirmish mode. I have followed the directions exactly as they read putting the maps into the RM file. when i go to check the box for custom maps it says i have none downloaded. how do i fix this?

Been looking for this same answer Lerbeck, found alot of sites and no answers to the question, read the turtorial and really wasnt much help. I cant believe the insensitivity from people on this site in responses, almost reminds me of my children when they go into hissy fits.

My problem, I download known good maps, others run them, I know, they talk about them. I do the same, but keep getting the message no custom maps loaded. Please, if you have nothing constructive to say, please save it till after summer vacation and you return to elementary school, otherwise, any suggestions would be great :)

Finally figured it out, people should be clear on where to stick the custom map files. Found they belong in:

    my documents/my games/age of empires 3/rm

What seems to be the error message, Lerbeck?
And have you done all the game upgrades?

quick question on RMS scripting... hopefully i can get an answer by the end of the day so i can finish my map.

how do you use triggers (such as unit create) that have a "Location" parameter? in other words, how do i define where on the map i want something to be placed later with triggers such that i can pass that location to the rmAddTriggerEffectParam() function?

looking at typetest.xml, it would seem that the default value for that param is 0,0,0, which looks like an (x,y,z) coordinate, but how do i put 3 floats (i assume fraction coordinatess for the x and z, and normal height values for the y) in one param?

i could be entirely wrong in what i said in the previous paragraph, since it's just some speculation. anyway, hope somebody can help me soon

edit: also, now that ive tried testing the map online with everything but the create object triggers, i have another, much greater problem. the game goes out of sync in about 10 sec. so if anybody knows anything about syncs and what could cause them, let me know so i can check my script for that kind of stuff [Edited on 7/5/2006]

    Xamolxis....

Yes my game is up to date. It says that i do not have any custom maps loaded when i click on the custom maps button in skirmish mode. There must be some small thing that i am missing because i have installed the files exactly where i am told but it doesnt work.

    Thanks

Will you please mail them to me (XML & XMB files), so i can take a look at them?
The only problem is that i will be gone in vacation for a few weeks, but i will try to read my mail from where i'll be on that moment. I will be able to see the files on my notebook. Adress is: xamo@xamolxis.com.

Sorry to be a bother, I'm new at this. I sort of have a grasp on editing the premade maps (such as Yukon, etc.) into different versions. I want to try and make my own map. I read the tutorial but I don't understand what values to give to commands. Like sea level and such. I'll try rereading the tutorial and figuring it out on my own, but any help on making new custom maps would be appreciated.
