fail to join mainly happens when you have a router or wireless connection .... if your wired and cant connect try to log off the game.. power off your modern for 30 seconds plug it back in and enter the game again... i wont advice messing with your IP address if you dont know the procedure... I tried it once and I ended up 1 day with no internet and calling ATT the other day asking for help... but at the end of the day i learned alot of stuff i didnt know about fixing my connection......

i have done this and it did not work i waited about 10 min when i did it though.

Any thing else you got would be nice, for i really want to play more ppl.

Did you set port forwarding in your router?

I am very dumb with computers.

So can you please expain how in very good details please.

Find your Actual IP Address 

From your Desktop, click on START then RUN, type CMD and press the Enter key, and then execute IPCONFIG.

Check what your current IP address is

 

How to set Port Forwarding

Open you internet explorer and type 192.168.1.1 (or whatever is your Router’s IP address).

Go to “Applications & Gaming” and open the “Port Range Forward” screen.

 

Under application type: AoE3III

Port Range Start: 2300

Port Range End: 2400

Protocol: Both

IP Address: 192.168.1.101 (according to your actual IP address)

Enabled: Check

YeS i know there are many topics on this but i have found that i am able to connect with certain players like 1 person in 20 and when i connect with this host i add them to my friends list so that i can rememeber them but why is it that i can connect with some pople and others i cant surly we are all using the same ports ?.

 example ; i host a game and i invite the guys on my friends list they join perfectly but there friend wh owants to join cant get in  so the guy on my friend list hosts a game and i can join perfectly but the other guy cant......

I have the exactly the same problem. I am glad some one else as the same problem if you figure it out and fix it please tell me, because i would also like to get this problem fixed.

Heya, me and my little bro just bought AoE3 and are trying to set up a LAN game. I host and when my brother tries to join it attempts to connect for around 10 seconds before bringing up the message "failed to join game"... have no idea how to fix it and have come here for help! (Both games are up-to-date versions so its nothing like that.
