Subject: Missing game modes and map confusion

Ok before i raise my complaints...awesome game, beautiful!

     Now for complaints lol.

    1)  Ok I have AOE3/TWC/TAD, all updated, all legit, no exe hacks but im experiencing a problem with the TAD. All of the new gamemodes are missing and dont display, king of hill, treaty etc all new ones from TAD. Do I unlock them by going through TAD campaign or...is there something up with my installation?

It was also help if anyone could tell me where to look in the directory to find the gamemode options and see if they are their.

2)In skirmish on selecting a map...it list things like "asian only" and "large maps" etc...but...huh? By selecting this i thought another menu would come up and i would select a large map but upon playing..im thrown into a random "large" version map...is thier anyway to specify a large map or do i simply have to know which maps are "large" versions?

     Thanks in advance :)

When I launch TAD and go to skirmish game and click the "Game rules" dropdown I have:

    • Standard
    • classic
    • several treaty options
    • and king of the hill

On the Maps drop down I have all the base+TWC+TAD maps listed.

    What do you see?

The asian maps are on the same drop-down with the "Asian Only" option. If you don't know which are asian maps you need to spend time at the library  [8-|]

The large maps are labled such. You will see Texas, and a "Texas - Large" option. (Or Large Texas .. Not sure which..)

Selecting "Asian Only" provides a random selection of all the asian maps when you start a skirmish. Large maps Likewise.

Ohh...yeah i have those lol, i was getting confused by the home city thing:

I load up the game...go to skirmish, go to "manage home cities" click on "create new home city" select some random race, and its "game type" and all I see is "deathmatch" and "supremacy" i dont see standard or classic or any of them...but when i go to the "play" i can select between classic and KOTH and all of those...but i dont get why you choose game type of two options but when you go to play all other options are there...i guess its a home city thing.

Some more questions...why is regicide a single map and not a gamemode?

Is thier anyway to get "particle detail" higher than "normal" or anything i can use to edit this? Also anything out there that will allow building debris and damage and bodies to stay around longer or any blood mods?

    Thanks in advance Big Smile

"Standard" and "Classic" are game rules (Along with treaty) that actually are selectable in the map select screen.

Supremacy and Deathmatch are the game modes that you must make different HC's for. Any help?

As to your particle quality problems:

I think that you just don't have a computer which could handle that at all... I had thesame problem with my previous computer, which sucked. Now i have a much better computer and i could choose automatically higher settings. So my guess: Get a better comp.

Excsuse me? I find that insulting! I can run this game at max with absolutely no lag at all w/ 100's of units on screen at once blowing apart buildings...

Im not having problems with particle count...there's only two set options "low or off" and "normal".

    I'll rephrase again.

Are there any files i can edit to forcefully increase the number of particle from the set game restrictions of "normal" or is normal the absolute max? And what about getting debris to stay around longer?

To other guy, yes that did help but i figured out what i was doing wrong lol

Because there are only two different HC / game types DM and sup.

Not that I am aware. I know that ES_particle had posted some user.cfg commands that disable particles but there is not a command to add more.
