Re: I just have to say... the Asian Dynasties is got terrible campaigns
The voice over in the campaign/game is one of the best when you compare it to other RTS games.
The only game that has better voice over than AOE3 is COH.
There is always a room for improvement but IMO Ensemble did a good job with the voice over and national accents.
The campaign itself is also fine.
The story is not great but when you play the campaign on hard it can be challenging enough and fun.
The AI in the campaign is much smarter than the AI in skirmish games (due to triggers) as it keeps attacking you all the time from different directions.
IMO Ensemble did a good job with the campaign.
What I would like to see is improvement with the skirmish AI and bug fixing.

Re: I just have to say... the Asian Dynasties is got terrible campaigns
All the languages in this game are incorrect. I think it's a cost
cutting measure myself, as it'd cost too much to have somebody
translate all the game's dialogue into different languages, especially
since some languages are hard like you said. If you play as the British, the English that your people speak is mostly gibberish too, in case you didn't notice.
Hmm, did it occur to anyone that for example English wasn't the same in the 17th century that it is now? What I mean to say is that maybe they're like old Dutch and old Chinese etc.? At least the English is mega close to Middle English by what I know. (which isn't much but is something?)
I noticed some things in the French that I think is kind of strange, but it doesn't bother me. Being that I'm Finnish, I'm super excited about the Hackapells and how good Finnish they speak.
"I am Jaguar Paw, son of Flint Sky. My Father hunted this forest before me. My name is Jaguar Paw. I am a hunter. This is my forest. And my sons will hunt it with their sons after I am gone."

Recent headline: Ensemble travels back in time and listen to how people spoke in that period. I am not complaining or anything, I just thought I should poke fun at this topic even more. @ Other White Meat, if what you said is indeed true, and I have no doubt that it is, then how would the studio know the way people spoke in "17th" century. Instead of guessing and researching reference books wouldn't be a whole lotta easier just use modern language? And I don't think this game is based in the 17th century. I think it ranges from 16th-19th because the Aztecs were wiped out by 1521 =D. Plus fictional units that dumbed down superpowers like the British and French and boosted Chinese, Aboriginal cultures, and other European countries.

JMan93:I can only understand "forester" when they are cutting down trees, "hunter" when they are hunting, "gatherer" when they are gathering from bushes, and "yes" when you click on them. Otherwise its gibberish.
They speak in Middle English.

MELINA!
I *think* it's a monkey wearing lederhosen.

Re: I just have to say... the Asian Dynasties is got terrible campaigns
ummm, I speak a little japanese myself, and yeah, its weird. But who cares? I don't know, people are entitled to their opinions, but I just don't think we should waste forum space with this nonsense. If someone has a viable complaint/question/comment, thats cool, but complaining about how awfully done the voice overs are done and trying to pin it on someone? Goodness gracious. If it means that much to you, find a different game with more accurate accents.
Oh, and its not just Americans that butcher other cultures. I've lived overseas in Japan and Africa, and their representations of North American cultures aren't exactly shining examples of truth.
