    Subject: french rush

    was wondering if anyone could enhance this early rush.

     1. put all settlers on food

    1a. use native scout to find enemy tc

    2. then use shipment to get 2 more settlers, put them on wood

    3. advance to colonial age

    4. use 300 food/wood/gold (whichever u have or need)shipment

    5. build barracks

    6. build 15 pikeman and 10 muskteers

    7. send to attack enemy tc

     

    usually this catches them off guard and they wont except it.

    firstly, you need to specify more, as, at which time do you attack?
    secondly, why dont use shipment of 3 coreurs?
    Thirdly, you didnt told us how many vills to make...
    Fourthly, why use card of 300 resource chests? that card is pretty useless, I would prefer to wait 1 minute more and send 700 resource chests, or even better, 3 hussars card...
    Fifthly, attack with pure HI its stupid and easily countered...

    Actually, yes. Best on Carolina.

    1. Put all coureurs on food after gathering crates, and make sure you build at least two houses with the wood you have.
    2. Send the 3 Coureurs shipment and keep training on food until u have 14. This'll get u to Colonial in at the most another 2 minutes after creation. Save all other shipments.
    3. When in colonial (advance with quartermaster), build an FB near opponent and train xbows to raid settlers. Train pikes later once the economy is dead.
    4. Send more xbows, coureurs (always use excess food on more coureurs, and try to get another 14 on wood), pikes and possibly outposts or hot air balloons. Resources are also helpful.
    5. Better yet, ship a Galleon in Colonial, and you have a portable barracks on ur opponent's doorstep.
    6. If possible, ally with the Cherokee, and train riflemen to counter muskets and pikes.
    7. Make sure he doesnt train cavalry! Just aply constant pressure on his settlers.

    ya, these strats could use a tune up.

     

    -don't send galleon shipment, just get a barracks, the galleon slows you down too much

    -700/600 wood is good,  since you will notice wood is slow to gather, with this wood, u will need less guys getting wood more getting food (quartermaster was still a good idea)

    -two barracks is a good idea, even though you might not afford to be biulding constatnly, it will still help.

    -unless you are doing a very speacilized tactic, never stop producing courer's.

    - best units to make depend on who he is. if he is german or portugal or some one who gets nothing good vs HI early on, get musketeers, otherwise make xbow and pikemen.

    -if you know they are doing a FF don't make as much xbow get more pikemen. don't let them see your pikemen until you have alot and are ready to attack, this way they don' get defense they just fly to age 3, once they hit age 3 attack, (if  you can the best time to attack is usually while they advance) this way you hopefully will bring down thier tc before they advance or before thier first age 3 shipment. 

    - if they are turtling or rushing, make you native scout go invible, and sit him so you can see what units he is makeing, and then you know how to counter him. failing that, you know that if he doesn't have a stable, he won't come with more than a single shipment of cavlary, so you will need few or no pikemen, just crossbow men.

    -use micro such as hit and run to the maximum advantage.

    -kill  his villagers.

    I am not exactly sure why people use xbows for french rush instead of muskets. Muskets pack a bigger punch and are less helpless against cavalry, and gold gathers faster then wood. Please, a professional correct me. Why?

    Ya, the AIs are in AoE3 suck. In treaty, they rush you really hard
    Cheatin AIs.
