Pretty good patch indeed. I don't see anything getting nerfed too badly. Although i think it'd have been better if the hand mortar's range was nerfed to 30 range rather than their damage quartered against anything except buildings and artillery. Halved would have been enough IMO if the range was nerfed slightly.

But my main grievance is that french have been left untouched... The easiest balance nerf the gendarme's splash to 1 radius instead of 2. For the rest i'd call french balanced.

-Does the XP trickle rate from the mosque substitute the XP I get with a Tradepost? If yes, this would be a good advantage because I am no more dependent on my tradepost which is often far away from my base and easy to kill.et enough ressources for many abus guns. So how to beat a Yumi or an Xbow-Spam?

The XP trickle is 0.4xp/sec, the same amount of XP that other European civs receive from training villagers. The benefit here however is that you can also spend another 100 wood for your villagers to train more quickly, it's very useful to build a Mosque. You can also however chop 50 wood and build a Tradepost if you prefer.

    Tdot:

I still dont like that they made the Cassador into a skirmisher, all it needed for a boost before was a ROF of around 3.75 instead of the 4.5 sec which its at now. Their low HP and high attack is what made them unique.

    exactly.

and this can hardly be considered a boost, let alone the boost ports needed.

Cassadores are now shooting 33% faster with 35% less attack.  That 2% decrease is more than offset by the fact cassadores will have less overkills and 20% more hitpoints.

     Overall a huge improvement

The native changes look fantastic. I like the warchief and firepit changes especially

China looks good too. Handmortar changes do all the right things.

I was a bit surprised by japan... I think their military units are still too strong compared to their eco. I was hoping close combat would only effect HAND damage...

xbow change didn't seem that great. +2 damage vs heavy infantry, -2 damage vs everything else. I think it should have been +.5 if you reduce the base to 16. They will still have trouble vs musket/jan/sepoy spam...

I think coyote runners are going to be more of a pain. Xbows don't kill them as well- pikes don't kill them as fast as cav, and maces now kill pikes much faster.

sure that would be an improvement, but their ranged armor has been reduced 20% also, which means these changes only make them better against cav and cannons, their direct counters, while they should be made better against skirms too.

sure it's a slight boost, but too little to get ports through early game.

The rate of fire accomplishes that.  Prior to this cassadores fired way too slowly to be usable against much of anything.  You were much better off with besteiros.

     1.  Cassadores are now usable

    2.  Hussars can now be a main unit

The Sioux may needed a little nerfing for beginning ages, but this is really a suicide for them now. If you try using 20 vill on the pit, the economy really sucks now. I think the pit should be like the the aztec pit where you can train preist to take over the job. Their economy is a joke, while other civs are pulling 20k in the last age, Sioux are lucky to break 5k. And with no walls, they are more like target practice then like the other civs.

I think the villagers of the sioux should be allowed a little faster gather rate ( i don't see any affect the pit has on it at all). I usually have a little issue with the wood they need, even with 10 vill, the gather rate is really far slower then other civs i've played.
