    Subject: How is India OP?
ok...i've recently taken a liking to India and have been using them a lot. i've gotten quite good at using them and have gotten past the whole thing of villies needing wood and it having the slowest start to the game. i kno how to rush, ff, colonial turtle, raid (jat lancers r expensive but great raiders btw) and just about every strat there is. while i will say india is good and that it takes time to get used to them, i find people (after having their arses whooped) saying how OP india is and that nothing can beat them. Surprise  i find this to be a stupid statement because india can not do things that the real OP civs can do. they can't mass troops quickly, they cant get tons of artilery in age 3 that pwn inf.(or any age for that matter, well...i guess the brits at the consulate can help em out) and they certainly cannot raid well (sowars r terrible raiders and mahouts do little damage ; which is y jats r the best raiders 4 india ). i've just been having to call these ppl noobs for obvious reasons. i still can't understand how india could be OP. so anyway, i was wondering wat u guys thought of india and if u think its OP (or UP or balanced). personally india is a well rounded civ that for some reasons can handle the dutch quite well. dont kno y but i guess their ff is a bit better (or mabye i just had better micro then the other guys). AND YES i do kno a lot about india and its weaknesses/ strenghths so plz dont think im a noob just posting. anyway, discuss!

IMO, India right now is fairly balanced. Their somewhat difficult to use but in the right hands they can be fairly devastating. India does have the 10/10 rush which can seem OP to someone who doesn't know how to deal with it but thats about it.

After the patch tho, well see....Hopefully they'll stay balanced and not slip into OPness.

o the patch wont do much to india except make them get to age 2 quicker. they will not become OP im sure of that and i kno that they will get better ways to fight artillery with howdahs so the patch seems like it will be a benefit to india (altho i could be wrong becuase i do like how the howdas r now...)

You're forgetting Gurkhas boost (CIR effect to Royal Green Jackets card).

With that, Gurkhas will be able to counter Heavy Infantry properly after early fortress.

i always viewed them UP. in rush they seem an average civ. and in treaty above average.

india is only UP if you dont know how to use them correctly.  India is a very good rush civ in the right hands.  Althought they have a bit slow start, once they do get going its hard to stop them.  I wouldnt say they are OP, they are fine the way the are and after they patch they may be a bit better.  You will probably see more people using india.  Personally they are one of my fav civs.  I have 10 straight wins with them.  :P

well while they r balanced...there is something about them that i love above all others. if u play vs. a dutch lamer u can probably win. indias ff is better than the dutch's IF u can micro well and r fast.the mahout and howda will own anything he can put up and with 12 urumi he cant put up too many halbs to counter ur eles. sepoy or gurkha will just eat up ruyters and skirms and cannons r ded. of course he will out number u so u should probably retreat a lot and move the mahout to his rear....

anyway i think that this is a really good way to stop someone from abusing an OP civ (like the aztecs against china).

and btw Xbobmcjose, i dont see wats so funny about that...i meant the common strats not specailty strats.

are you didn't noob bash?? lol Am just kidding. but yes you are right they can be good in rush.like u said( if there in the right hands). and also they have a really slow start. but if u look at them overall they are really UP. they have slow train times and and there units are costy

but indias units r very powerful and they have a SUPER eco. their late game gets a bit harder to manage because u need to have VERY good micro skills or else ur eles wil go to waste. urumi are a must have in the late game and many players dont use em later (gurkhas instead for some reason). mahout, urumi, sepoy, and howda combos r devastating and if u ally with the ottos u can get bombards which wont die if u have jans and sepoy gurading em (cept 4 those dam culvs...)
