Hej!

I never played french ,though i'm on eso since january 2006,if u want to know why,write me a private message!

 But I want to start playing them and I would need some advice and a very good taktik(rush if possible) because I think that the french are.............crap!

Ney, French is the best in all civs in my opinion. Reason follows:

*They have the strongest easy-trained cavalry, the Imp Gendarme. 

*They could build two fort + two factory.

*Their infantry and artillery is not the strongest, but pretty strong.

*They have the best late game economy.

So, when you play the French, you'll have to defend in the early game, and in the latter game you're army is "unbeatable" with the Gendarme, Skirmisher and Cannon combo.

french are the best civ in late game, try using em in treaty or DM, also I dont think any of who answered ehre would give you a good tacktic, since 80% of the people who ever posted here are noobs, better go to www.agesanctuary.com or www.gamereplays.org for good strats.

1. OK, no doubt, gendarmes are OP late game if F.U. with all cards...

2: Actually, they can build 3 forts, also russia can build 3 forts, but not get em with cards, the can build em with musks if you sent a card! (also you get em almost instantly if you combine cards fo sevastopol+faster building construction)

3: they got just good variation of units.

4: Germans economy>french economy, also a lot of civs cang et a good economy too.

5: This is supremacy strategy forum of asian dynasties, not treaty forum of age of empires III vanilla (I know vanilla got no treaty, its just that I am saying this because you seem just be realted to the bonus that they have on aoe3 vanilla).

6. French arent OP, they are balanced...

french r the best.

if u want to rush, try this:

1. age up quickly with 500 food poly (ship 3 vils asap)

2. during the transition have most of  ur vilss on wood (8 should be good)

3. put up a house when u have 100 wood and send 2 guys forward to chop wood.

4. ship 8 xbows in colonial asap, put up rax forward, and (keep training vils most of the time)

5. as soon as rax r up, train 3-5 pikes depending on how ur wood is. send them to attack the enemy rax or an enemy house.

6. ur xbows should just have arrived, use them to fiind the hunters and hassle them

7. from now on, train xbows and pikes, at around 2:1 or even 3:1

**make sure u get early treasures, keep xplorer active, ur opponent will probs try and rush u so try find his base

Oh. Why, then?

I found a good taktik,

1st shipment should b the 3coureur des bois,then age with 400wood and 14villies!

The 1st colonial shipment is 700wood,

build 1 barracks and 3towers,ur next shipment will be the 2 towers!

That should b enough to stop an ennemy rush!

FF and build stables and upgrade ur musketeers!

SPAM with cuirrassiers and musketeers!

Thats should teach them!
