    Subject: Otto's vs.
    I am a Treaty 40 player (Major) and love my Otto's. I can successfully counter all civs but have particular difficulty against spanish. I just hate chasing donkeys with horse archers all game. If anyone would like to share strat ideas using and/or fighting against Otto's I would love to hear your input.

    Unless you out eco him majorly, you probably wont win. Spanish units are just too good for the ottos. All the spanish player needs is skirms dragoons and culvs.

    Yea I do not see any chance of Ottoman beating Spanish.

    You will need better map control, better eco, and you will have to fight with lots of natives and plenty of cannons. Attack the Spanish player from 2 or 3 sides so he will have to split up his missionaries. Spanish units suck without help from missionaries, so play on open maps, preferably larger ones if you can.

    Spanish can still beat ottomans without missionaries with skirms and lancers.

    They suck without help from missionaries? They have the most royal guard units in the game, have an awesome selection of units and can counter most strats, and that's without missionaries.

    the best combo might be cav archer+cannons+janns

    the thing is ottos really dont have that many combos -.-|||

    spanish lancers are a horror to otto, u cant counter spanish effectivly as otto.. Maybe a pure cannon/cav archer might do, but u got to have a good micro to pull it off.

    Ottoman vs Russian Pure janies: Pure strelets Hussar Rusher: musket rush Abus rush: Cossack rush I just don't see how I would have trouble against Ottoman. I mean I can train units faster then Ottoman, make villagers faster then Ottoman, but don't age to age II faster then Ottoman.
