    ChaobSiroc:

I had never played vanilla online until yesterday... I didn't go online until I had bought TAD.

So anyway.... I was shocked to find no treaty mode in Vanilla but people host standard games and say "No rush"

So my question is.... if I rush them is there any penalty or could they report me as a "cheater" to a Mod. ?

Or can I go ahead and rush them to get victorys?

I have had this done to me when i was playing vanilla, now when i get on and i see some noob try and rush me in their own 40 nr game, I love to watch him resign when he realizes im more than ready for him.  Now Vanilla was never meant to be played as a treaty game, hence the new expantions with treaty mode...people started making thier own rules in vanilla and then broke them for their own benifit, luring in NR people just to rush them.  I would say, just have an army ready incase they do try and rush, but stick to their rules until they break them, then sit back and laugh as they resign when they try and rush with an army and have no eco to support it, while you already have an army waiting and your eco is climbing....I find if i make an army and my eco is skyrocketing, they wont even bother trying to rush.

Hold on, how is that not cheating? You are agreeing to play by certain rules with other players, and then you break those rules. You know they will have little or no defense because they are focusing on economy, and using that to your advantage.

And isn't cheating by definition not playing by the rules? Or bending them to put yourself to a unfair advantage?

NR games aren't officialy supported by ES, so technically is not cheating, just bad sport.

Is it cheating, yes and no.  Accordingly to aoe3 rules no.  Going by game titles then yes.  I don't think ES will do anything to you though.

It's NOT cheating at all. Maybe un-sportsman like conduct. But many of those so-called "NR" games are made by idiots trying to lure someone in the game and RUSH them for points. I would say rush them first and spank them good.

no youre wrong very few of them are ppl luring others to a trap most are honest no rushers

and if you can agree to play by a rule then go and break that rule just cuz its not actually part of the game AND then tell yourself you didnt cheat then you have some serious moral issues

Listen,  just do what I do in a NR game.  Build up your army and while you are building your army also keep building your eco as well. Next I would build walls around my eco and have a small army to defend it, then build eco faster and focus on that. But i think the biggest thing is build that walls around your eco and your army to defend it.(You can also use your minuteman) This keeps those who want to cheat out, and gives you enough time to make more soldiers to kik the cheaters ASK.

    Army first then wall!

OK that what works for me but h*ll I just found out that i was still a NOOB. So what do I know!!!!! LOL

Hopefully see ya in the games!!!

IT IS CHEATING!!!! IF YOUR IN THE GAME AND GREEN UP, THEN YOU AGREE TO GO INTO THAT GAME AND AGREE TO FOLLOW THE RULES THAT WERE SET FOR THAT GAME!!!! Maybe not for ES rules but as a gamer you should stink with those rules that were set!

I think ChaobSiroc might be digging himself a bit of a hole.

It is cheating, coz ur breaking the rules that were established by the other players. U dont have to break the game or lag out to cheat or anything...

Take cricket for example. If everyone says the batter is LBW, and he protests he isnt, even tho he is, hes cheating like ChaobSiroc would be. This involves no tampering with the equipment or scoreboard, so this case of AoE would be cheating, but not officially cheating.

Just dont do it or people will think ur an idiot.
