    Subject: mamelukes
    i was playing today, as dutch, and i got owned by ottos.  he didn't rush persay...but he did build super strong mamelukes that owned me.  they kept killing my vils and my army.  i usually do a semi ff and hold my own but not this time.  need tips on ottos and how to beat a mameluke rush

    well if your playin as dutch them spam halbs. (i dont know what ff means, but if it has anything to do with "making halbs" then srry)

    oh and btw you cannot build mamlukes (at least in vanilla you cannot) you get them from hc

    and yes, make halbs, and ruyters should always be good against them .

    use ruyters/halbs to kill mamelukes.

    BTW, Dutch has hakapells, their 121 atack kill ANY villager in 2 hits, and they also have waardeglars(sp?) with 60 atk to help in raids.

    earlier today, my 6 hackapells killed 20+ CDB of a guy, so at about 15 mins of game, he got just 9 vilagers so he resigned, they are fast, this game was  1st lieut vs. 1st lieut, and he tried to garrison his vils, but he couldn't do that before i killed almost all of them

     

    also, always have an envoy around his base to know at he is up to do

    yea i def forgot about ruyters...but i did spam halbs and he just ran away, went somewhere else and killed peasants... it sucked. i gotta try hakapells tho, and someone said that dutch could build extremely ggood samuri. this true?

    they can get ronin but only twice, once before imperial an donce after (obtainable in industrial, so id go witha fortress  mercenary r build a saloon.
