If you can't beat expert in a 1vs1 supremacy I really wouldn't recommend going online, expert should be a moderate challenge at most and anyone who knows their stuff will beat it.

No, that doesn't really qualify you. Expert is the same old brain-dead computer it is on Sandbox. It's just that it gets a massive build/gather bonus, so really if you can't beat an expert computer doesn't qualify you for much. Online is much harder because of strategies, actual good planning, etc.

I'm a level 17 (not the greatest, I admit) yet I have a hard time with expert comps. Only coz when I comp-stomp I don't play like I do online.

Expert. If you can build up enough to fend off their first rush it's a joke.

    I have beaten a exerpt. It's was easy, because I rush. :P

I have put hard comps in a 4 player FFA. They always go after me and always kick my @$$, but no matter how badly they kick my @$$. I always make once hell of a comback thanks to my Oprichniks( stupid comps doesn't make walls). xD

I try this with others civil and get owned by comps. >.<

So far Russia and German are the only civil to stand up to these mirco monsters. O.o

Agreed, but fighting an expert comp demonstrates your ability to micro and rapidly make an economy. Some players are unable to set up an economy fast enough, and get pwned. Does not qualify for much, but does mean something.

I play the campaigns on easy.

In the skirmishes, I first play a civ on med to learn their special abilities then switch to Hard.

I don't ever plan on playing online so I don't need to worry about being good enough to beat another human, just the comp.  And if Hard starts to get OK, I may try Expert once I've practiced on Hard w/the Civ for a while.

I couldnt play online for about a month or two after i got the game because i had a awful graphics card and i hate lags so i just practiced against the comp. After i learned the basics of the game Hard was super easy but i had a hard time beating the expert. But i kept on playing against the expert and i finally beat it, now i can beat it every time, even when i chose a new Civ to play as for the first time. Once i got the graphics card i needed and rose through the ranks rather quickly and found my self at 1st lut for a lil bit but as time went on i fell a few ranks to MS and now im back to 2nd lut with a PR of 21.

If i was you i would spend time getting to know the game and the Civ you want to play with and stick to that Civ dont change it around to much. If you cant beat the AI on expert you will have a hard time ranking past a sergent or a MS.

European civs are harder to beat that the expansion pack civs in expert mode, the key to winning expert is rushing for those that dont know.

It bugs me how many outposts the hard/expert comps build. Just annoys me but they are easily enough destroyed.

The end is near (for these forums)

The only thing that the computer is "good" at is assembling and eco, which is only due to their huge gathering handicap bonus. If you destroy the fort which they attempt to build about a foot from your base, you've practically won.

The lack of micro displayed by the comp means that you can easily overcome them even if you have an inferior army.
