wrong, the garrochista would win... The garrochista needs 6 hits to kill a samurai, while the samurai needs 8... The skirmishers I guess... Which would win, 1 dragoon or 1 bow rider?

Dragoon, doesnt have a crappy animation and thus can fire and run before the archer fires, or at least I think.

Mortars in a normal battle, but if the Monitor micros with the Long Range attack then it will win.

Yea, my post was sortof a trick question.. The Monitors would win, but it would take aaages..
Honored Samurai, I think.
Which would win, 5000 Imperial Howitzers or 1 Monitor?

Monitor, because they can still use long range attack, duh... Unless then Mortars circle it and are also on a nearby island.
