Perhaps a noob question; Why use spies?
Listen, I know that spies do great damage against mercenaries, explorers, war chiefs, and monks. That's great, and I'll use them plenty for that. But what's the point of their hiding ability? Perhaps I'm doing something completely wrong, but in my experience, the hiding ability is totally useless, because it dies off once the spy nears an enemy army, the enemies' town center or military buildings, etc etc, and those just so happen to be the things I want to spy on. At the same time, I could just use a hot-air balloon, get then spy technology in the fifth era, or play as Japan. So why use this ability?

I knew someone would end up quoting GI Joe here. Anyways, it still seems like my time could be better spent managing other areas, rather than giving all my attention to one spy, just to find a spot where I can leave him and constantly gather info.

Re: Perhaps a noob question; Why use spies?
Actually, spies can't be seen by normal units. Only some buildings, explorers, and other spies can see them. That means that they're extremely useful for spying on FBs or approaching armies (if you can keep up with there incredibly low speed :\) I don't use them much only because I can't. I used India. And even if I could I think they're a little too expensive for what they do, but in the hands of a good player can be extremely useful. Laz.

sliced bread? lol... seriously i hate tashunke prowlers tthough... sure they have stealth ability but they cannot be upgraded, and you can only increase there hitpoints if you have more of them...there attack stays at 15 (sucks) and there hitpoints still are not over 700 if you have 5000 of them...the only thing they are good for is stealth
