I will ignore the last question, since it does not belong to this topic. Also the last answer was wrong: aenas are better agains janissaries, except if they charge in melee and you don't use hit and run.
Which is better against 2 ninjas:
1 agent or 3 mamelukes?
A person with good tactics can never defeat a person who knows the principles of tactics.

No, 1 agent is better: 1 agent wins agains 2 ninjas while 3 mamelukes lose (even though they cost 8 times as much as 1 agent). The reason is x10 bonus which works for agent in the first case and against mamelukes in the second case.

yes they do, but the attack of a rocket its much better than of a field gun, so wrong, the rockets are better.

with them you can get much more units and their upgrades are way better
(prolly the best native upgrades comparing to other native tribes).

8 cuiers, because much cheaper than field guns, and i'm not sure if you would lose any anyway 
Which is better versus 40 gendarmes:
40 doppels
100 ruyters
70 jans (in mele)
we arent talking in cost effectivness, we are talking in strenght and aibllity to use units tank.
