Subject: There is not a best civ
I get sick of this question "im a noob whats the best civ to use?"  if there was one best civ there wouldnt be a choice of civs to pick from.  Any civ can beat any civ and any civ can lose to any civ.  Just try em all find one you like and practice.  Yes you will be beat in this game and yes you will get frustrated, but those who get frustrated and figure out what "not to do" next time will win games.  There are no easy ways to win in this game unless you just noob bash which i admit is fun.  A lot of people including myself devote a large amount of their free time playing this wonderful game, so dont be afraid to lose and dont be suprised when you win.

    parthenon:

what u just said is very very VERY true in supremecy,

however the civs r a little more lopsided in deathmatch

o and about that "any civ can beat any civ"

that is true, but certain civs counter certain civs

(this is talking about supremecy) like for example:

u would not rush a dutch opponent with jans if ur ottoman would u?

of course not! dutch get skirms in the colonial age

but u could rush them with germans because they get cav with every HC shipment

so it just goes to show-that each civ counters another and choosing the right civ to fight can up ur chances to win dramatically

a person that can play all the civs well will have a better win % than a person that can play one civ really well

there is nothing to fear but fear itself

Some Civ have they goodies :

For noob I advice the British or the spanish, its easyer because they have simple units but no handicap.

L33ts say they "w00t" with the Russkies (lot of units since the start, maybe good for rush ?), For me its the second civ behind the Turkish (With Free farmer its much good)

Well, is this true? The dutch civ has a better economy, because you can build banks AND plantage's.

dutch to me have a better late game eco, as gold is probably one of the harder resources to get hold of (though i always seem to lack wood constantly) as your spending gold to make villagers but you can't make a bank until age 3 (i think, it's been a while) so your not getting anything back as such until later on, whereas with nations who have food based vilagers, you can create a farm to gain it back straight off the bat

dutch can build banks any age, and thier eco does suck if not executed properly, all of the high level players agree with this, so no, dutch are not an easy civ, in fact they are in top 3 of the hardest to play, (1)banks cost ALOT and they get only one bank wagon (2) they get only two army shipments in colonial- 8 pikes and 3 hussar (3) villagers cost coin, but so does the rest of thier army so alot of players make the mistake of mis-managing thier gatherers (4) thier eco only gains when you make more then three banks (5) when games gets into late fortress/idustrial age every other civ can have  same eco or even better

i think that the dutch civilisation is only good for no rush games, it is too hard to build an economy and militry at the same time. the best economy civs are british and dutch, but their military arent so good, although with rockets british can be formidible.

and ur points on dutch banks, in age two i can get 2-4 banks and have low resources, but as i dont use villagers for gold nemore, i have a few extra hands for food and wood.  but if used properly you should have best eco with dutch or british, and i am a noob and i get good economy with these
