Re: Ironclad?
Instead of aging up to age V, European civilization can revolt for 1k food, wood, and coin. It transforms your villagers into colonial militia, musketeer-type infantry. However, you can continue to gather resources from factories, fishing boats, or non-villager economic units. Instead of regular deck shipments, you can send 16 militia (musketeers), 4 gatling guns (organ guns), a fort wagon, or 2 ironclads. Ironclads are essentially strengthened unupgraded frigates, or heavy naval ships. The idea of the Revolution is normally not used, however, becuase of its overall weakness. The ironclads are also weak in comparison to the other ships; perhaps one of greatest inaccuracies of this game.
Again, Native American civilizations cannot revolt, neither can the Asians.
Hope this makes everything clear.

Nice explanation however: A gatling gun shoots way faster than an organ gun, so they're better than organ guns. But some imperial cannons just do a better job than these things. A colonial militia is a SKIRMISHER type of unit. It has the HI/LC bonus of skirmishers, but they're far weaker than a guard skirmisher imo, let alone an imperial one. In short, never revolt cause it sucks, it'll give you a strong push but once that's been taken out, they're weak, let alone the fact that enemies can make revolted peeps bleed to death since their eco will be sucky to non existant.

colonial militia is musket type, 3 obvious signs, 2x cav, melee resistance, and 12 range

Well ,the Indians can sorta revolt with the Home City card Sepoy Resistance. It costs 2000 wood to send and turns all villies into Sepoys. This is better than revolts because...
- The Sepoys can be upgraded, making them far better than Colonial Militia
- U get to keep ur old deck.
- U can make more villies again!!!
The most British-Dutch person here, or is it Dutch-British? Lets call it Butch. Yeah, so hi, Im Butch.
