    Subject: 6 Longbowmen or 6 Musketeers?

    Before anyone else says this is more Brit spam...

    1. I used the search and found nothing on this
    2. Search sucks and doesnt work very well

    Now, which is better to send, 6 Musketeers or 6 Longbowmen (having both isnt an option in my case)? Im seriously stumped on this one...

    I would send the long bows with proper micro they will stomp the musketeers. Against most light infanty units early in the game they are really effective with micro. Brits are my second fav Civ so take this in with a pinch of salt mate.

    Actually, i'm not sure what I would put, but if your making musks put in musks, or visa versa. If you want, it wouldn't hurt to spam lbs and have 6 muskets or musks and 6 lbs... depends on what unit you personally prefer.

     EDIT: Oh yeah, if your spamming lbs it might be a good idea to add muskets just in case he gets horses and your not expecting it, so you can get some anti-cav faster (just a thought).

    It probably depends on who your playing. Against an otto, I would almost always send the 6 longbow card, to hinder any Jan rush, similarly with Spanish if they are still in colonial. Obviously a lot depends on your strategy...

    usually 6 musks , in case they call out some cav or so

    Really depends on what your up  against, there is no better choice imo. The Lbow shipment is worth a bit more resource wise though.

    in general think of who they are

    french musketeer

    spain musketeer (good vs rodelaro)

    british longbow

    portugal musketeer

    german musketeer

    russian longbow

    dutch longbow

    since some civs don't get an age 2 skirm, musketeer is quite good, but some civs (eg dutch) will almost certainly make a good number of skirmishers. 

    of course these choices aren't always right, this is just if u have no idea what he is makeing.

    I've been playing as the brits for awhile and i always find that the 6 longbow shipment is more useful. they are very good at defending against musket and jan rushes (which is what you will  be doing most of the time with brits) and are actually decent vs cavalry.

    i always send the musk as a cav rush will eat inf at 5.30-6 min.I used 2 lb-pike alot but found that pike dont run so fast and dont get a shot off so now i musk then have a few lb depends on your strat but musk,lb,upgraded with arti and goons should hold untill op on eco at the start i take the tower and 200 gold helps with mass brit vills and is worth more than 500 food when u look at it xp is time towers give xp and save vills

    Conclusion: I have made two different decks, one stressing longbows and the other stressing muskets!
