They were meant to be OP. They are only avaliable in the late game and for a short time, they can finish a game or help a person when in need. They are very expensive(export wise) and can only be used a few times as a full force.

When I play skirmish and use "Speed always wins", Export is the only recourse that can reach the Double Digits when spamming a unit - in this case the Hamatoto.

Henry Clay a.k.a. jacklope: How? You can only get export one way and it doesnt gather very fast.Plus it's 290 expot a unit.
Thats more or less the equivalent of 2000 resources per samurai from un upgraded villies. Thats also about the same cost as 3 Siege Elephants... for an infantry unit. Call it OP? Pffff

Unfortunately, no And besides, that happens in Skirmish games. What I'm saying is that if I spam, say, Cuirassier with Speed always wins, I will always have 10,000+ recourses. However, when I spam Hamatotos, my Export goes down to about 100 sometimes.

TheRomans: They do their job and co-enside with history as being one of the best
soldiers on earth, if your sword can cut through another guys sword if
hit the correct way that is pretty OP so if they are keep them that way.
A sword won't cut a sword, but a bullet will break a sword. Like they say, "Those who live by the sword get shot by those who don't."
